| Yorkie hair tangles Slightly's hair tangles so easily when I put a sweater on him. We have had sooo much snow here in WV, I feel he needs a sweater...but what a mess he gets in! Slightly has long thin hair.... Anything to help calm these tangles and mats? Suzy |

| I don't know if this is the same as calming, but I read in the Groomer section to use corn starch to get the mats out. Rub the corn starch into the mats with your fingers and somehow (still not sure how it works) the mats will come out. I would never have believed it but I tried it and it works.

| Sophie has thick soft hair and her groomer said if she tangles to use a tiny bit of cream rinse on the spot and comb it through to prevent mats and always brush her before a bath.

Anytime a yorkie wears clothes they will most likely get tangles and if left on very long, the tangles become mats. I always take off their clothing and brush/comb them out every night. You can use silk lined garments and that does help them not to tangle so much. The problem I have is finding sweaters that are silk lined, I've yet to see one! Like Katy-yorkie mentioned cornstarch does work wonders on the mats. You can use cream rinse as MI Yorkielover suggested but then you have an oily area that will actually collect dirt. With the cornstarch being a dry powdery substance, it actually will absorb oil and doesn't look greasy afterwards.
