Anytime a yorkie wears clothes they will most likely get tangles and if left on very long, the tangles become mats. I always take off their clothing and brush/comb them out every night. You can use silk lined garments and that does help them not to tangle so much. The problem I have is finding sweaters that are silk lined, I've yet to see one!
Like Katy-yorkie mentioned cornstarch does work wonders on the mats. You can use cream rinse as MI Yorkielover suggested but then you have an oily area that will actually collect dirt. With the cornstarch being a dry powdery substance, it actually will absorb oil and doesn't look greasy afterwards. |
