| Very proud of myself!! I just wanted to tell all my new friends here that I AM VERY PROUD OF MYSELF!! Why you may ask, well I shall tell ya I had another dog situation arise and no one got hurt or there was no yelping at all... In our little valley here there are a mixture of doggies.. We have indoor dogs, dogs that are outside all the time (personaly I don't see the point in having a dog if you are going to keep it outside all the time) Well the breeds range from Yorkie (me) to rottrilers... Well the Rottrilier that my neighbor has lives up to his reputation. He tries to run and get me and my babies EVERY time I am outback with my boys. WELL today since we haven't been out back for a while I decided what the heck its OUR property I am NOT going to let another dog scare me off it. Sooooo I venture out back... Well since I got Nicky his harness he is MUCH easier to rein in. Well I am just minding my own business on MY property when I hear visouse barking!! Well I instantly look in the direction of the nasty bark when I hear... OMG HARLY GET BACK HERE!! Thats all I needed to hear and I scooped up Nicky and Rocky just in time to see this HUGE nasy mean dog charging at us. I knew I wouldn't make it back to the house, seeing as I was just about down over the hill. So I turned my back to the dog and the nasty thing managed to get a grip on Nicky's new lead!! He gave it a big tug and dang near pulled me over, I turend arround and let out a growl myslef at the dog, a deep growl and then said GO HOME HARLY!! and OMG with my luck the dog backed off, just in time for the owner to come up to us. He then hollerd at Harly and said, GET HOME NOW BOY!! then just walked away, didn't even appoligise or nothing. Man some people... Heck if one of my dogs did that I would be petrified.I wonder about some people. UGH!!

| How scary! Atleast everybody is okay, but why do people let their dogs act like that?

| The Dog Whisperer would certainly say that you handled that one well! Glad that you and your babies are safe!

| Yea I know what ya mean, My Rocky who is a 2 year old 14 pound Shih-tzu was instantly scared. My Nicky who is 10 months old, and 5 pounds was ready to attack back. I REALLY had to hang on to him. The owner of the Rotriller (sp?) is just a nasty biker guy that things nothing of setting off his fireworks ALL year round at 2 am in the morning. Reving his bike at all hrs of the day and night. UGH... Thing is we have been here in this neighborhood and we have seen 4 or 5 familes come and go out of that same house over the years, by far he is the worst!!

| Some people just shouldn't have dogs - obedience is a must for most dogs. We had rotties and shepherds. People need to learn how to teach their dogs manners - but when the people who own them don't have manners... what can you expect.

OMG I don't know what I would do if that dog harmed me or my furry or human babies. The protective mama in me was showing for sure today. UGH

| I love that show!! I LLLOOOOVVVVEEEE that show!! I think that is part of the reason why I acted like I did to that dog... That you have to show the dog who is the boss, or alpha dog. That and I wasn't about to let that dog bully me or my babies on OUR property, the stupid owner of the dog is who I blame not the dog, it was his upbringing.

| Yep I believe that too... I belive that too, that some people should not own dogs. That neighbor being one. I have been around all kinds of dogs, both Rottie's and Shepards and they were sweet dogs. Heck my cousin has a shepard and he is a sweetie, never harmed anyone. I belive its becase he was brought up right. Had the right mix of love and shown who was the boss. Once they know they are great!! That goes for all dogs not any in petecular. I don't want anyone to think that I am singleing out any one breed.

| Good for you! I read some where that most dogs if you stand your ground and yell at them to go home will back down. I've also heard that an umbrella is an awesome deterrent as well. Kinda like those lizards that make themselves bigger and most dogs aren't real used to umbrellas so they are a little uncertain and back down from that. That must've been scary! |

YT 2000 Club Member | I am a very peaceful person, but it really irritates me when people do not accept responsibility for their 'dogs'. I use the word 'dogs' because they certainly can not be pets because most of these dogs are kept out side forgotten by their owners. No one plays with them, no one grooms them, no one watches their diet (most of the time they go for long periods of time with out food or water) and no one truly loves them. But complain to these owners about the way these dogs are barking, howling all the time (from neglect/boredom), terrorizing the neighborhood (the children and other animals), tearing up trash and flower beds and these so called animal lovers will quickly become all redneck defensive and quickly point out how much they care for their beloved dog. I have lived by these so called dog lovers time and again and watched their dogs die from starvation and neglect. It is a pity that all people don't have to take a test before they can own a dog and then have a yearly home inspection. These kind of people will not spay/nue, get vaccinations, annual vet. check ups, but they love their dogs. I think NOT. It is so irritating to be at the mercy of this type of mentality.

| That's awesome that you reacted so calmly and smartly (is that a word?) in a stressful situation I would call Animal Control just so there is a record of the incident and maybe a visit for them will "inspire" better treatment |

| It all really happened kind of fast... I was more ticked off then scared. To think that he was going to let his dog run around like that. I fear for the day when that dog does hurt someone. I will have to take an umbrella with me the next time I go out back. Thanks for the little tip!! Quote:

| Yes I was VERY lucky!! Also very glad that I had Nicky in his harnes because that was what I was useing to hold him back with, He was barking and snarling at that dog. He was wanting to get back at that dog for attacking us. I was like Man nicky he could eat us for lunch if he wanted to. Then the owner came up and hollerd at the dog then just walked away. Not saying a word to me. I was like gee mister, I am ok, thanks for your concern NOT... UGH
