| New forum needed for sad or disturbing topics... That way you can avoid that category, if you want.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Some things are sad and disturbing and yet we need to read about it......so any topic is one that can be skipped if it contains info you don't want to read about it..... |

| I understand how you feel. Most of the time I know which ones to avoid by the topics, but sometimes you're following a thread, and something tragic happens. I understand it's part of life, but it's hard not to feel their pain. The ones I really try to avoid are about animal abuse. The images stay in my head for days. I saw the picture of the rescue yesterday who's ears are missing. He looks just like my Marley. Every time I look at Marley I keep thinking about that puppy. I need to keep with the picture albums. You can't look at the pictures without smiling. |

| Personally, those are the topics that need to be opened, discussed and addressed. If you think it is sad to look or read about animal abuse how do you think those animals feel? If we all step up and have one voice more will be done to curb this horrible REALITY! As for a puppy will chewed off ears~I too saw that picture and it screamed PUPPYMILL to me

| I agree with Megansmomma. As much as I hate to read of animal abuse, I think it is important that we all understand and are reminded from time to time that it DOES happen. We all need to remain vigilant to what we can do to prevent it in our own circles. I think the forum is a slice of life and life, unfortunately does have sad and disturbing sides. It also has compassionate, wonderful, happy sides too. You just need to take it all in, filter as needed, and hopefully the good will always outweigh the bad. If we put all the sad and disturbing news in one forum, it will likely get avoided by the majority of the readers. Somedays I do avoid a thread if the title sounds too upsetting and I am not feeling strong enough to deal with the emotions that follow. But other days I will read them and then pick my little ones up and give them an extra hug. Also reminds me to send a little something to one of the rescues. I don't want to stick my head in the sand all of the time.

| I agree with you however I do believe the other's are right also. It's so hard for me to read cruel stories regarding innocent animals any animal, it makes me so upset for the rest of the day. I am trying hard to look at it in another way, much like Megansmom said because I would like to volunteer next year when I retire. As much as I want this I have no idea how to handle the sadness and sticking my head in the ground I know is wrong but facing it will be a challange too. I need all the help I can get. |
