| My Yorkie pee's in every wall outside! It's so weird..My 6 month old Yorkie whenever I take him for a walk, he runs to the nearest wall and puts one leg up and squirts a lil pee. He does this at almost EVERY Wall..It's not even that he has to pee, he just does it like its a game. Indoors he always does a full pee on the pads.. Why does he do this?? It's like he just wants to mark his territory or something..I live in NYC, so there's walls everywhere!! It's such a pain to walk him..very irritating Last edited by SpunkyXL; 09-30-2009 at 09:55 PM. |

| When we take my minpin/chihuahua mix to the dog park her marks everything to the point that he has no pee left to mark with and keeps running around trying to mark things he's tried to mark already and failed. I mean like every single pine cone. its completely crazy. |

| It's not just a male thing either! Daisy wants to run up to every post or corner of a building and lift her leg on it! It has to be her LEFT leg, tho. A trainer once told me that when a female dog does this, it is a sign of dominance. I let her do it a couple of times on a walk, but most of the time I have her close to me on my left side and walk a little faster, not allowing stops. This works well, but she tries to get away with it when she can. I'm just so glad she doesn't do that humping thing.

| Is he neutered, if not you should seriously consider getting this done soon. He is marking so hopefully it will not start indoors. Pebbles my girl does the leg lift too! She thinks she is dominant but Doodlebug will put her into her place

| Maybe not yet but I had a girl (spayed) that would hump a big, blue cookie monster stuffed animal. Only that one thing so I wasn't sure what made her even start it. I was showing puppies to a woman and her daughter said, "Look mommy, what's that one doing?" She turned bright red so I said she was riding the blue wave. LOL I really didn't know what to say. I made sure to put that toy somewhere else during puppy visits. |

I'm allowed to laugh because my Tia does the humping thing. She only ever does it on her teddy and not very often (he is a handsome fellow) and we all say "NO SEX TIA" and she stops immediately.

YT 500 Club Member | Rosie is humping like mad at the moment as she's in season, I'll be so glad when its over, she hates being left at home when I take Alfie for a walk. Alfie would cock his leg up everything on walks if he could but I just give a little tug on the lead and keep walking. He's getting so much better on walks now, stopped to say hello to some people and their lovely 12 year old little yorkie, can never fuss too many yorkies, and he just sat quietly by my feet. |
