It's not just a male thing either! Daisy wants to run up to every post or corner of a building and lift her leg on it! It has to be her LEFT leg, tho.

A trainer once told me that when a female dog does this, it is a sign of dominance.

I let her do it a couple of times on a walk, but most of the time I have her close to me on my left side and walk a little faster, not allowing stops. This works well, but she tries to get away with it when she can.

I'm just so glad she doesn't do that humping thing.
