| Harley Ate a Frog My Fellow Yorkies, Why do Mommies get so mad when you find a snack? Every time we walk by the pond there are these little green things hopping around. They're the same size as crickets but they make less noise. They're smaller than quarters and one came right up to me to say hello. I grabbed it, tagging my tail so hard it nearly flew off. It was over in two snaps. Next thing I know Mommy is losing her mind trying to pry my mouth open. It was too late. Frogs are delicious. But Mom is stressed. Sheesh. I don't try to take food out of her mouth. Mommies are weird. Love, Harley Okay... my dog ate a tiny frog. He seemed so proud of himself when he caught it and by the time I figured out what he had done he was smacking his lips in satisfaction. Is he going to be okay?

| Stella tries to catch the itsy bitsy ones that sometimes get into our house under the door. The dog trainer told me to be careful, because some of them are poisonous or have a poisonous slime on their skin, but assuming he was ok for 10-20 minutes afterwards, it's probably fine. Might not agree with him, but how were you supposed to stop him?! The only reason Stella doesn't catch them is because she usually chases them under the couch! |

| I have no clue which ones are bad and which ones aren't. Chester licked one a while back and he threw up SIX times in the next hour. I watch him like a hawk and he goes nowhere near frogs/toads/anything of that nature.

| Around our pond there are thousands of them, 13 different kinds not counting toads. I know because my littlest daughter and her friend went out one night with a bucket and caught a bunch then counted and sorted them. Reesie just plays with them and doesn't try to bite them. Mice are a different story, though. |

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | Harley, I think you are the bravest dog I know! At night when I have my last wee wee there is this hopping thing around , my mummy called it a frog, well I sniffed it and it jumped on my head! I ran straight to my mummy because I was so scared but she laughed, I personally couldn't see the funny side. Anyway I do my night time wee wees on the patio now instead. love frightened Tia.

| Yup, lots o' frogs around here!! (toads too). Not sure if Bailey ate any of them - but I did catch her eating a grass hopper the other day (yuck!) There's almost always a toad on the back porch at night (probably the same one?) Anyhow, Bailey will ring the bell, go out and look for it then pounce at it, then I say leave it and she comes in. Thats just our evening routine... I think she just has to check on it daily - he's her friend.

| Your story is so cute and funny. I understand how you feel, because Josh ate a gecko once when he was a puppy. I hope the frog snack did not upset Harley's tummy. It is amazing what our dogs will eat without our guidance. |

Not near as concerned about frogs as I am toads. Chipper just can't seem to leave them alone when Snowboy finds them. Each time he spends time foaming at the mouth. So far he hasn't thrown up, but I'm sure it's coming. Just hope he doesn't get too sick. Then it will be a trip to the vet.
