| Papi is getting neutered Tuesday Okay, I haven't posted anything for a while. But.....my little "Big Papi" is getting neutered on Tuesday and I am scared to death that something will go wrong. I am having the pre-op bloodwork done and I have waited until he was 8 months old, just like my vet suggested. Papi weighs 4 lbs. Anyone have words of encouragement?

| I know how scary it can be. I'm sure he will do fine. You are taking all of the right precautions before surgery. He will come home groggy and probably not eat much today, but tomorrow he will probably be his same old self. You csn put a onsie on him so he can't lick the stitches. Poor little guy. Poor you lol!!! Sending great big get well wishes to your baby from Coco, Pebbles and Trixie. Please let us know how he did. We will be relieved to know he is fine also. Good luck!!

| Best wishes to Papi and his Mami from Kimbo. Let us know how it goes! Kimbo is 10 1/2 weeks old and I know very little about the neutering process. It would be nice to hear from someone's experience first-hand. |

| Oops! It's next Tuesday. Not today. I am a nervous wreck. Ya know, some people just don't understand. My furbabies are just like one of my children. I love them so much. I am also going to be going to work on 8/5 teaching Kindergarten from 7:30 until 12:45. I am worried to death about leaving them. LuLu is 16 months old and Papi is 8 months old and I have never left them. Please tell me they will adjust fine. I have taken a room in my house and made it their room. Their beds, wee wee pads, toy box, food, water....everything is in there. But....I just cannot let them have "free roam" of the house. I am to afraid they might get into something that could harm them. I know I am a "worry wart," but I just love them so much. Please be in prayer for me and them and especially Papi NEXT Tuesday. Thanks so much!

| I am saying a prayer that Papi will do well in his surgery Tuesday. I just had Maddie done today, and I know how anxious you feel. The anticipation is the worse part.

| Update Whew!!!!!!I am totally mentally & physically exhausted! Papi was scheduled to get neutered this past Tuesday, July 21. We followed all of the instructions the vet gave us.....nothing to eat or drink after 8:00 p.m. on Monday....be there between 7:30 and 8:00......I had the pre-op blood work scheduled.......guess what? They could not draw blood from Papi.....they couldn't keep him still enough. My hubby even went over there and had no luck. My vet said they had to draw blood from his neck because he is so small. He weighs 3.75 pounds. He didn't want to do the neutering without doing the bloodwork and I definitely didn't want the surgery done without it. They had to take one testicle out and had to make an abdominal incision to "look" for the other one. So........reschedule for today. Doc gave us a sedative to give him...1/4 tablet, 45 minutes before we were to bring him. (I got my hubby to take him today.....I just couldn't do it--I chickened out). Well......we picked him up at 3:00 p.m. and I am so relieved. He did GREAT! Everything went well and now he is on his way to healing. THE PROBLEM--I am scared to death he is going to hurt himself or chew his stiches out when I'm not looking. I bought some infant "onesies," but am giving him a break for today. I am afraid he may hurt his incisions trying to get the onesies off. He really doesn't care for clothes. I am blessed that I don't go back to work until 8/5 and he is scheduled to get his stitches out 8/7. I am so sorry for the long post and the "rambling," I guess I just need to vent. Any suggestions on making my baby more comfortable? He's lying beside me on a pillow at the moment? Also....the vet said he gave him enough pain medicine to last 48 hours in an injection? Is there really such a thing? I don't want him to hurt. Thanks so much for any help.

| Lucy's getting spayed next Tuesday too. We'll be worrying together. I'm sure they'll be fine but it is scary.

| Yikes! Kimbo also has a fear of needles. He would have done the same thing if they tried to get some of his blood. Well, I'm so glad he came out of everything ok. Keep us posted on his progress and God bless! |
