| I've lost my mind Tonight I realized how much I absolutely LOVE Delilah. I seriously love her like I love my real kids. I took her outside to play and she and Leo played HARD for about half an hour. When we got inside, she basically collapsed. She slept on me for almost an hour. Once my husband got home from work, I kept asking him if that was normal? Should she be sleeping like this?? She seemed too tired. I kept checking the color of her gums. I thought for sure something was wrong. She shouldn't be that tired. My husband finally said, "Just put her on the floor!" So I did. And she started to attack Leo, chewing her bone, running around like a freak, etc. She was FINE - just tired. What is wrong with me??? I was truly obsessing, thinking something was wrong, and thinking I couldn't go on if something happened to her. Have you ever been crazy with worry for some really dumb reason?? Or have I really truly lost my mind??

| It is my very unprofessional, but professional YorkieMom opinion.... that you have NOT lost your mind and this is completely normal behavior for a Yorkie Parent ps, I've been there too, and still go there, lol

| No, you haven't lost your mind...it's just that inborn/protective nurturing thingy that is part of your make-up as a female...I'm the same way...Now then, that it is directed to a dog, instead of human is questionable lolol...But, as I get older, I just go w/the flow, even if it seems out of the ordinary...I absolutely adore my little Apple, and watch and fret over her, like she was a child...And I'm sure these durn yorkies get into your soul more than any other dog on the planet...I've had several breeds over the years (and I'm grandmother age), but I don't think any have captured my heart the way this pup has...Just enjoy her, and know the tension will ease up a bit, as she gets a little older...Kind of like w/the skin kids...You never stop worrying, but it's not so intense and they get more able to fend for themselves...Hope this helps.... | Thanks everyone!! I feel a little less insane! Obviously a puppy is a kid magnet so all of the neighbor kids want to see her. I refuse to let them hold or carry her because I'm so afraid she'll get dropped. Every time a kid comes near her, my heart drops! I'm terrified she'll get tripped on, stepped on, kicked, etc. I'm a nervous wreck all the time!

Thor's Human Donating Member | I think it's probably because I've never owned a dog "all by myself" before, and I've only had Thor a few months, but yeah. A lot of times when I see him sleeping, I'll touch him just to make sure he hasn't suddenly stopped breathing.
