| Airline carrier size requirements--confused! I have been shopping for a soft-sided carrier for my 7lb Yorkie and see many that say "airline approved". Delta, however, says even soft sided carriers cannot exceed 18"long x 12"wide x12" high. A smaller plane reduces the length to 17" and 9"high. I've read that as long as it is soft, they are flexible. Delta says no, stay inside the restrictions. I am uncomfortable buying a tine carrier. Any wisdom for me? |

| If you buy a Sherpa carrier, mine had a tag that listed all the airlines that had approved it. I kept the tag in the pocket to show the airline, in case they asked. BUt they never did. I also understood that if the carrier was soft and flexible, thus fitting under the seat, it was approved. I doubt you will have anyone ask to measure the bag, but I suppose it is a possibility. |
