| Food aggression towards other dogs I need your help! My little Winston is so protective of his food when it comes to other dogs. I feel so bad for my girl, Bailey, because he stands over her bowl protecting the food. I have to hold him or kennel him in order for her to be able to eat. He isn't aggressive when it comes to me reaching for his bowl or anything. He hasn't nipped at her or bit her, he just stands over it and circles the bowl so she can't get to it. He reminds me of a controlling boyfriend that wont let his girlfriend eat. LOL They have separate bowls but he thinks both of them are his. He gets really aggressive when other dogs try to come around his food, even if he isn't eating. If another dog walks by his food or even water, he runs right over there to make sure they don't touch "his" food. I should add, Bailey is surprisingly the dominate one. She is 2 1/2 years and he is just over 1 year old. Oh, and, they have food available all day. I just take it away before bedtime around 8pm. I don't know what to do..... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

| I dont like food aggression with dogs It always leapfrogs into aggression toward other things so its best stopped anytime that you see it You didnt say if he was aggrssive with you That would even be a bigger priority To stop him being aggressive with other dogs Start with two bowls on opposite sides of the room putt them closer and closer and when your little one starts being aggressive ... up his food bowl goes keep doing this until he gets the message eventually you want to graduate to the same bowl

| You need to stop that ASAP... Look up some books regarding food agression. I think there is a good one called "MINE" - he needs to be trained as this could turn bad one day |
