| Holidays without your furbaby? Myself and my boyfriend are going away for a week and Roxy is going on holidays to my mother's house. I think it goes without saying that I'm not entirely looking forward to leaving her for 7 whole days. She cannot come with us as we have a long plane journey and it's not suitable for small dogs. I know she'll be loved and cared for at my mothers but she's always alot more comfortable in our house. What's the longest you've left your yorkie for? My mother is slagging that she won't know us when she gets home

| I've left Ellie with family for two weeks twice. It was very hard but she definitely remembers us.

| Time away We have for the past six years travelled somewhere warm in winter for 2 weeks. I found a kennel right near our vet where they were kept indoors but could go out if they wanted in a large seperated room but could go into large exercise room with big screen tv and fireplace. This year it was a disaster. Both my dogs ages 17 years pinned for us and got sick there. They spent 8 days of the 14 going in and out of vets, they were very ill. I was contacted at the resort I was staying at by my family who were emerg. contacts. When I got home they were still ill but picked up when they came home. My male bear has now passed on to Rainbow land. I will never kennel my dogs again, If I can't find family to care for them I will not go! |

| similar problem My husband and I are going on a cruise in August for 5 days and I have no idea what I'm going to do with Brooklyn. I dont want to put him in a kennel but I have no one to keep him. I thought about leaving him at home since he does pretty good while we're at work . Im not worried about pooping and peeing all over the house but im not sure if its a good idea. Any suggestions?

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My husband wants to drive to Arizona this summer and we Haven't had a vacation in over 20 years because I didn't ever want to leave my baby/babies. I think I have to go this year. My 23 year old dtr will be home with them and I am going to pay my 20 year old nephew to stay and help her with the 3. She works 12 hour days and my girls are use to me being home so her can be here with them and the girls can sleep in my bed with my dtr like they are use to. My sister can also check on them, but I would rather not go. I will also fly back if they are not doing well. I know it will be harder on me than them.

| I know how you feel, I was in the hospital for 5 days when my son was born and I worried about Oscar the whole time. Now, we are going away for a week in August with my in-laws and Oscar can't come. It's a trip we are driving for and renting a house so I had asked my mother in law to find a house that would let us bring a small dog, but supposedly she had no luck (I just don't believe her on this one.) Anyway, Oscar will be staying with my mom and I am sure she will spoil him rotten, but I will miss him like crazy!

| It seems that whenever we leave them for a week...we're back in 3-4 days because we miss them so much. So, we don't leave them very often. We have very good neighbors who take care of them if we're gone and we do the same for them if they go away. On the other side of it, we have a vacation policy for anyone who has one of our puppies. We will pup-sit for any of our puppies free in our home at any time for the life of the yorkie. Last year we had one of them come for 3 wks while mom&dad were in the UK. She was so happy to see her mommy after 3 wks I could hardly hang on to her. They don't forget those who hold them in their hearts.

| Ive only left Molly for one night in some very nice kennels, but worried about her all the time i was away! Ive just booked a weeks holiday at the seaside, in a dog friendly B&B! When i had my old dog Willow, i didnt go away on vacation for 3 years, because i couldnt bear to leave her, and she hated travelling in the car! |

| Came back from the week away on Sunday & she was so excited she peed everywhere Couldn't wait to get home and there were loads of Yorkie's on the island so we couldn't wait to get home. She was very quiet yesterday but was extremly playful this morning and getting used to being back in her own house again. All back to normal again now. Roxy will be coming to our holiday home soon so that'll be her first holiday and I can't wait to see her at the beach
