| Pet land soo-- I had my FIRST experience at PET LAND this weekend, & Lets just say, I Left the store in Tears. Pet Land is located in a shopping center near where I Live. my Boyfriend & I were passing through this past weekend & saw PROTESTORS outside holding up signs that read "stop puppy Mills" & such. So I decided I wanted to check this place out on my own to see what it was about. [Bad Idea.] I walked in & immediately saw Kennels full of many kinds of different dogs. I rushed over to the kennel full of yorkies & my heart melted. The Salesperson that was helping me, went to the back & brought the yorkies out so I could "play" with them. He began pushing to sale one of the yorkies to me, But I told him I already had 2 of my own but definetly would refer people over. Until I started to ask Him questions-- Like "where do you keep the dogs when you go home at night?" He said "well? we leave them where they are" [in TINY KENNELS] Hmm....so then i said "You guys at least take them out several times a day to burn energy, right?" He says, "umm? yeah if a customer wants to see them." I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT This place was EVERYTHING the protestors said it was. to the Right of the yorkies was a kennel that had 2 chihuahua's.... NO ONE payed attention, as one of the pups was attacking the other, & the chihuahua that was getting attacked--stood there, shaking & trying anything to get away from being attacked. But had no where to go I GOT SO UPSET! I screamed at one of the employees to seperate them!!!! She then pretended to care, & tried to calm them down. I am so Heartbroken about this store.

| What you saw today is the best part of these puppies life so far. Petland gets its puppies from puppy mills. Their mothers and fathers spend their entire lives in cages, most never able to run around. I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | It's not the fact that the dogs, are in crates at stores that bother me, many people keep their puppies in crates while they work. People need to understand that the puppy's parents are living in horrendous conditions. Pet store puppies come from puppy mills.

| My sister got her 2 chihuahua's from Petland in Ft. Wayne. The 2 there closed last year. She, at the time, had no idea about Petland but has since found out a lot about them. She wished she could have gotten them all especially since if she hadn't gotten her oldest that she had no idea where he would have ended up. He was 'on sale' because he was getting too old and wasn't 'cute' enough. Thank God she saw his beauty cause he turned out to be one of the best dogs we've ever had and it makes me sick to think what might have happened to him. |

That's correct. But I do have to say, I have been in our local PetLand a couple of times and each time I have noticed there have been dogs who were getting bullied and pretty roughed up by their crate mates. Sometimes 2 jumping all over one defenseless dog. | |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I don't want to get into the details, but the dogs in puppy mills sometimes have body parts chewed off from other dogs. If people "just" think it's because the dogs are in kennels in the store, they don't understand the real problem.

| My heart is so sad at this post. It just makes me cry. Don't you just want to save all those babies! How cruel Petland is.
