| little creeped out... Okay, don't think I'm crazy, but Turky is starting to freak me the heck OUT. He has always stood at the one gate in the kitchen and stared out into the great room..he sometimes even barks and growls, which normally he is a pretty quiet dog. For the past 15 minutes he won't stop growling and barking at what looks like nothing. He growls towards a bare corner. I went to look to see if I could figure out what is upsetting him and all of the sudden he came running over and got behind me. Like he was actually scared. I tried to lift the gate so he could go thru to check it out and he wouldn't have any part of it. Normally he BOLTS when he gets freedom outside the gates. He's still acting all wiggy...he's like, obsessed. |

| Something else I forgot to mention...he has been peeing right at that gate where he barks/stares. Nowhere else. He always goes on his potty pad, but for the past 10 days or so he has pee'd in that same spot like 4 times right at the edge where the 2 rooms meet(basically, on the gate). He just got fixed a couple weeks ago...could he be marking? |

| You could possibly have squirrels in the walls. My neighbor did (we have adjoining townhomes) and mine use to go nuts. |

| Nope, built this house...it's only a year old. We're out in the country and it's times like this I really wish we lived in a cozy subdivision. |

| I don't think you're crazy at all.. Gucci does that... he has been doing it EVERY SINGLE NIGHT since I got him his X-pen (because he can see the hallway now that he's in the x-pen) and it is always really late like 2-4 a.m and once in a while during the later portion of the morning. He wakes us with angry growling and barking.. when we get up he is just staring out into the Hallway (there is about a 10 foot hallway from our bedroom to the actual Hallway and then another 10 feet of hallway out) He just stares out there and when I wake up he stares at me then looks back out to the hall and growls as if to say "it's right there!" when I don't see anything there and try to calm him down he gets more agitated. It even creeps daddy out and he's NEVER scared of anything lol. It could be he hears something I don't.. but he doesn't do any head tilts or anything and he looks mad .. no wagging tail or curiousity he is just on "alert". |

YES! When he's growling out into the great room he turns and looks at me like, "can't you see?" and then fixes his attention back out there. Ugh. It makes me very uneasy feeling. He still keeps going back to stare out there, but not any growling or barking(so far today). He did pee on the gate again..I found that nice little present when I came home this afternoon. I'm still not sure how I'm gonna solve that issue yet...

| I think you definitely have a ghost. ( j/k) It is the dead of winter where you are and maybe he can hear the furnace kick on or there is a mouse. I just noticed in my basement (we are in the country too) and I have found a little pile here and there of eaten sunflower seeds (like the ones you feed birds with) and I just started setting traps in the basement and have already got 4 mice since this weekend. There are none upstairs yet (thank God) but those dogs can hear and sense things so well. Maybe try to let him out and go 'get' whatever he's sensing. |

| When Penny randomly starts barking and growling at things that no one else can see, we just say that she's protecting us from ninjas. They can be crafty!

That's true, but his ears never perk or go up(you know how they do when the can hear something?). And I lifted the gate to let him out to 'investigate' and that was when he ran and hid behind me like a little girl. lol He was like, 'NO. WAY." Anyway, thanks to those of you who shared your experiences and thoughts.

| There are so many things we don't understand about life.... and death. I would not be surprised that if the truth be known there is a kindred spirit living in your home. Who knows , but if it was an evil spirit, you'd probably know by now. We built our home on what used to be a cotton plantation and before that was inhabited by Cherokees. I am convinced that our home is built over an ancient burial ground of sorts. |
