| Okay, so why do we do it? This is meant to be a *fun* thread. Okay, so, I'm always seeing people post about how their babies don't like being dressed in clothes and are asking how to get them to like it. I know my two hate it. Chip runs and hides if he sees me with a shirt in my hand and Smokey will run all over the house rubbing up against everything... so my question is, why do we do it when we know they don't like it? Personally, I don't dress them that often. I will put sweaters/coats on them when we go outside in the cold because it keeps them warm. When I do put shirts on them it's usually to celebrate a holiday or just because the whim hits me. People ask me all the time what the purpose is. I tell them that I put sweaters on them because they have hair like humans, not fur, then I proceed to ask them if their head gets cold when they are outside without a hat or hood. When they say yes, that is when I tell them that yorkies and other similar dogs get cold just like we do.

| I put it on because it's so damn cute!! lol Make my day to see my babies looking their best!! But I don't dress them all the time, it tangled their hair to much. Most dogs get use to it. All my dogs are ok with close on now. |

| I have an armoire where I keep Lexi and Cricket's clothing, jewelry, and hair bows. If I open the doors on the armoire both girls start whining and barking until I get their things put on them. I don't do this everyday, but anytime that I am taking them out shopping. They love it. |

Mine like the GF pj's too! They get so cold at night, this morning I found Tina huddled next to the BF under his covers. It was so cute! I dress them for my own personal entertainment. It is like having an adult barbie! Plus, how could I resist when there are so many people on Yt that make such nice clothes??

| I get SO frustrated trying to explain to people that Layla NEEDS a sweater and jacket on in the winter when it is -15 (Celsius) without the windchill!!! They dont' seem to get that if she just went outside like she is... all 6 lbs of her.. that she wouldn't last very long without succumbing to the cold. So- first off... we do it because she NEEDS it. Now that being said- we are in Florida right now and I'm more than happy to put her t-shirts on her when there is a slight wind WHY.. because it is TOO frickin cute. And Layla doesn't mind it. she LOVES her pj's.... she curls up when I put them on and will stay sleeping all day if I kept them on her.. such a lazy girl |

| When I get asked I say cause I can... and cause they looks so darn cute dressed up... many times around the house I do not dress them unless it is cooler or just plain cold.. some get colder then others..again it knots their hair and at this time.. mine have full coats.. I do not care what people think neither.. I am doing it for me mostly.. lol anne |

| I put Sapphire in clothes on occasion. For holidays, birthdays, or for puppy parties. I also put some on her if we are going out and it's cold out. She LOVES to wear her clothes.

| I put t-shirts and pj's on Canyon when it's cold outside. He even helps me, he will hold his head still while I put it over his head and then he lifts his paws for me to slide them in the armholes. I can't believe how much he's grown up and such a good little boy. Such a difference from 3 months of age to 8 months. Smart as heck too - ooops sorry - took that opportunity to brag. |

| i put clothes on milu because she gets cold REALLY easily, and i feel bad seeing her shake. she usually wears a jacket if it's not too cold, and if it's colder, she wears a sweater + a jacket. and sometimes she will still sleep next to the fire place with that much clothing on! milu used to start running when i get her clothes out, but now she doesn't run anymore. maybe because she's learned that they keep her warm, or maybe the treats are working
