| My yorkie's weird behavior So, we just got up from a nap (she sleeps with me on my bed sometimes) and I noticed she was acting really weird. She was shaking her head constantly (sideways) and wouldn't look at me when I say or name or anything. I grabbed her and put her on the floor and she was walking sideways almost falling over. She walks over to her pee wee pad and then pees on the carpet! She never does this. After that, she went over to her little house and instead of going in completely, she sticks only her head in there. It's almost like she was a little disoriented. I picked her up and her body is flexed out. She wouldn't even blend her elbows and knees. Freaked me out a little especially when she wasn't responding to me. She's ok now but what do you all think? Bad dream? |

| I don't know. That is weird. I would give it some time. If she keeps it up, you might want to take her to the vet. Good Luck!

| Sounds like she may need a check up to see if everything is ok. I would call the vets office in the morning & see what they suggest.

| Ok, I'm starting to get a little scared. I youtubed yorkie seizures and it wasn't quite like a seizure. It's kind of hard to explain but it was more like she was looking at a flying bug (which there wasn't one). But, her walking sideways is odd. |

| I also wanted to add...last week I woke up to her having fast deep breathing but she calmed down when I was saying her name and kind of soothe her. Can this be related? |

| How old is she and how big is she? Could it maybe have been a hypoglycemic episode? Try checking her gums to see whether they are pink or pale. I would get her in for a checkup just in case.

| I would definitely take her into the vet to have her looked at. It could have been a seizure especially if she was posturing (her body was almost stretched out, correct?).

| How old is she? What does she weigh? It could have been a hypoglycemic episode, but it also could be signs of a compromized liver. And it may have been nothing to worry about. Please get her in to the vet and have them do some blood work.

| She's 8 months and no more than 4 lbs, maybe less. I did just check her gums, they look pink but I have her a little bit of nutrical anyways. When this happened, she was in a lying on her belly position but when I picked her up she was stretched and a bit tense. |

| I would tell your vet everything you have told us here, the heavy breathing could also point to several things, but I still wonder about the possibility that it was a seizure as the lung muscles could have been affected by the seizure if that was it. Did she feel warm at all or was her heart racing? Like others have said it could just be a one time thing, maybe she just had a really deep sleep and was waking up a little slow. Just better to be on the safe side.
