| Is my Lily weird? I don't know if this is a Yorkie thing, Lily likes to push around her food dish with her nose before she starts eating, every time. Is this normal? I just think its funny but I was just wondering if anyone had the same experience. Thanks. |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I've seen other dogs do that. I'm sure there's some canine history to it.

| Mine don't do it but it sounds like it's cute. What would she do if you got a bowl that didn't move? Mean trick I know. |

| Brad always paws at his bowls before consuming. Not enough to tip it over or move it, just a few taps along the top edge. I'd love to know why. I used to think it was to check if there was any water in the bowl (by seeing in move) but why the food too? |

| Maddie used to do that...her dish would end up clear across the room. For some reason, she doesn't do that any more. Hmmmm...wonder why. |

| I had a toy poodle who did that. She would also take her paw and scatter the dog food on the floor. |

| Jasmine definately does that and more. She is not happy until her food is scattered all over the floor. She then runs around with her nose to the ground searching for it. She acts like she doesn't see it, so she just has to sniff it out. It's pretty funny but kinda messy when she doesn't eat it all. Which is why she only gets dry kibble in her bowl. |

| Bentlye does that. He will nudge it and nudge it, then he gets his blankie and nudges it over and lays it on the top of his food bowl, like he's hiding it the way he does his treats. Bentley is going to the doc's on Thursday (8/25) for his neutering. Please keep him in your prayers for me. I'm sure he will be fine, but I still worry. Thanks. |

| Yep, Tatum does that too as did my toy poodle. And if it's empty before we notice, she'll practically push it all the way to you! She got really mad at me when I got her new bowls. Now we have the kind that you can't tip over. Before when we had just regular ceramic bowls, she would tip it over and spill the food on the floor and eat it from there. Never did it with the water though. Now she still paws at it and pushes it but it won't tip.
