| preggie or not? My little female was able to dig her way under the fence in the backyard during her heat. She did this a couple of times and was gone for about 30 min before we found her. After her "heat" was over her teats stayed swollen and still are. She does not have a flat belly but I cannot tell if I should expect a pup in two weeks....how can I tell (she is only 1 yr and not ready). |

| I don't know how to answer, as I'm not a breeder, but, if she got out, and she got pregnant by a bigger male, it could kill her! |

| take her to the vet, tell them what happened they can determine if she's preggers and may need a section.

| Good Luck and take her to the vet asap. It could kill her to deliver a large pup... |

| called the vet The vet is just down the road from me and I called and all they did was book her in Dec to be neutered. There is a little dog next door who is not fixed...but none of the dogs roam in this subdivision. I always thought that her teats would go back to being tiny...does anyone have a female who has had a first heat? She is so cute. I also have a shorkie...they are great friends |

| I don't intend to scare you, but if she escaped twice during her heat, you can almost bank on her being pregnant. and 1 year old is TOO YOUNG! Find a NEW VET! When was her heat? Somehow I don't think that yoiu are taking seriously the warnings that you have gotten in the responses. It is a SERIOUS matter. If a dog bigger than her tied with her, having the puppies could KILL HER! She is only 1 year old. Even if she tied with a dog smaller than her, having puppies at this age is like letting a 4 year old child have a baby. Please, find another vet and get her spayed. ASAP! She would be due to deliver approximately 63 days after mating with another dog. If she was out for 30 minutes, I can almost count on her having mated with another dog. When they are ready to mate, they will do whatevrr thay can to get out with a male dog. Please, hon, if you love your dog, get her to the vet now.

| My Stormy has had her first heat already and I can tell you that her teats are still swollen, I brought this up to my vet and he said that it is okay. I thought at first that she could be pregnant but she isn't. I hope this helps you out a bit! |

| Thanks...she is 5lbs and has not gained any extra weight, but I will take her in for an appt. She is just now house trained, she was a long time before she understood that she is to go outside. My only trouble is she likes to eat her pooh....I have tried everything natural and vet and nothing will work. Now she is eating "poopsickles" |

| Her appointment is tomorrow morning. She will have her operation immediately as long as she is not preggie. I really do not think she is. I will let everyone know how she is doing later this week. |
