| OCDoggie I'm wondering....I think my Mac has OCD. Are all Yorkies obsessed with their toys? It never really bothered me much but he seems to be getting worse with his "NEED" to fetch! It is constant. If you sit or even pause in one spot for too long he has a toy that he is trying to get you to throw. If you try to walk away he will be right behind you bumping it on your leg. If I try to ignore him he talks. Starts out a low wimpier. Then it will turn into a Winey longer sentence. And if no response from you it will turn into an almost angry sentence..I'm not kidding...and he will not quit until you throw his toy..over and over AND over again. I've tried putting his toys up, but then he will run back and forth from his box to you..pausing to see if your coming, that will continue until you give in. Oh goodness, If you wash any of his toys it is pure torture to him its from the washer/dryer to me.....Is this normal? Any ideas on how to break this constant need? He and my husband walk every evening so he gets exercise?? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Is he a puppy? I've had a couple that really liked to play fetch but when I got up they just played by themselves. Now thatI have several dogs they play together which is nice.

| He is 2yrs. He is by my side constantly. Eight weeks ago We got him a little sister she will be 15 weeks old tomorrow. She has made him even worse. Now not only does he obsess with his own toys He is paranoid over hers too!...I am still hoping he will adjust..He really is a sweet lovey guy just a little bit obsessive! |

| My dog loves to play fetch too. He will play that game constantly if I let him. I do not look at him when he throws the toy at me and eventually he will decide to play another game by himself. If he keeps throwing the toy at me, then I just take the toy. Now he hardly does this behavior to me anymore. Last edited by Lovely05; 12-05-2008 at 08:03 PM. |

No Longer a Member | Its normal in some dogs as they have natural instinct to fetch , Springers are known for this trait.............Love to fetch. I wouldn't worry about it. My Nicholas love to fetch, If i throw it 100 times he goes and gets it. LOL |
