| Groomer Question I was wondering how often do you need to take your yorkie to the groomer to maintain the "puppy cut"? I am debating if I want to keep him with the puppy cut or try and maintain a longer length. Thanks in advance!! |

| I take Calleigh every 5-6 weeks, but I like her hair neat. I suppose it would depend on how fast your dog's hair grows. Time will tell I would say.

| Hi! It is really according to your personal preference and how fast your furbabies coat grows. I have some puppycut customers who come every 3-4 weeks. (they tend to like it shorter) and then I have some who only come every 8-10weeks. I also have several customers who have yorkies(and a few with shihtzus) that are in full coat. With these guys my customers pay one set price every month and I groom their dog once a week. I give them a bath, blow out, and full comb out. I also maintain their general hygeine cuts, tip ears, cut toe nails, etc. It helps me out because they get the works once a week so they aren't a mess when they do come in and it doesn't take as long to do them. It helps out their mommies because most of them work full time, so they are pretty busy, but thier dogs alway look "just groomed pretty" I think they are pretty either way! I love a yorkie in full coat, but I think they are just as pretty in a cute little cut!! Look at ALOT of pics before you decide and carry a few of the pics with you when you do go to the groomer. Some groomers think of a puppy cut as super short and others think of it as 2 inches long...be specific!!! I hope this helps!! Jessica

| It totally depends on the dog and how short you go. Loki is super short and to maintain his look he could seriously get cut every 3-4 weeks and I would love it. Sammy is slightly longer and she could go 8 weeks. We compromise and go every 6 weeks but by week 5 Loki looks extremely scruffy

| Holly goes to the groomer every 8 weeks and gets a short puppy cut every other visit. Sometimes it is more frequent depending on how fast her hair grows. Her coat mats really bad so I tend to keep her short. I think I will grow out her face hair so she will look a bit more like a Yorkie. But right now she is just cute.

| Thanks Guys! I do love the puppy cuts and a trip to the groomers once a month doesn't sound too bad! |
