| My Caesar is a red leg. Here is a picture of Caesar. The 2nd on is his son, Hero. I don't know if Hero is show quality, but I think I'm going to try to show him. |

YT 1000 Club Member | Tami, I didn't know for sure until I talked with a few breeders. I remember one telling me about some breeders having them to bring the color back into a line. So I bred her with a very light male and ended up with the 2 boys in the pic and the other male from the litter looks somewhat like his mom but not as cute. Maggie is very resilient, she had her first litter all by herslef I just watched mostly. Then after they were weaned she got pancreatitis, then all during this time she had a molar that had come in crooked she had to be hurting from that, got through both of those things only to have a split heat and then a false pregnancy. Yes she is and she loves to pull when we go for walk til we get to the corner. I just love her to pieces.

Oh yes - the puppies are 2 1/2 weeks old - she had 5 puppies - 3 boys & 2 girls! I have a list of a few people that might be interest in pups. Just haven't got around to calling them yet. I will advertise at the Vets & Groomers office later on.

| I think Mischa must be a red leg too.. his hair only grows to just past his tummy.. He has very fine strands of hair.. I was wanting a long coat yorkie to, but I wouldn't trade Mischa in for the world.. I just keep him in a puppy type cut.. He's my little angel with horns... lol... |

| I think I have a Red Leg... Hi Everyone, I have an almost five month old Yorkie girl named Izzy, and I'm pretty sure she will be a red leg. As much as I'd love to have one of your beautiful Yorkies with long, silky coats, I also love the look of those old Yorkie pictures from the 1900's that show the scruffy working Yorkies of the day. That's what my sweet Izzy's dad looks like, and Izzy is looking just like her daddy. I'll have to take a more recent picture of Izzy, but here are a couple of pictures of her four pound dad (almost three years old and never ever groomed), Scooter. I've also added a couple of my pup Izzy when she was three months old and four months old. She's a handful, for sure! She's looking more like her Daddy every day. The first and the last pics are daddy Scooter and the middle two are his daughter at three and four months. Scooter belongs to my sons girlfriend and she gave me Izzy. |

| I'm pretty sure my Penny is a red leg. The color of her legs is dark red, she has almost no hair on them, just wispy stuff, and I have never cut them. She also doesn't need her ears trimmed, they just never grow. Her head is still light, since she is still young, but she matches almost everything everyone has said about thier redlegs. She is pretty ragged looking right now since she is a momma. I'm sure once the puppy is weaned and he stops chewing on her hair she will get it all back.

| Red Legged Yorkie I am beginning to think I also have a red legged Yorkie. She looked normal for a Yorkie puppy, but when she started getting a little over 3 mos. she started loosing hair on her legs really everywhere. I don't remember this happening with a previous Yorkie puppy I had. Hair is coming back in but it isn't getting long on the ears, and it looks like it isn't growing none to fast on the rest of her body either. Her legs has new growth, but I don't think it is going to be long. Can anyone tell me if parents would look like the puppy? The parents didn't seem to look like what she is looking like now. I really wanted one with long hair, but couldn't give her up now! |

Some of the breeders on this site will comment, but I'm pretty sure that a pup can throw back to a grandparent dog, or even further back in the pedigree, even if both parents had correct coats. There are other causes of hair loss, so the hair loss could be from some other reason. My girl did not start getting the "breakage" on her coat until she was a little over a year old. She had much more hair as a youngster. | |

| Red legged Yorkie Here is a picture of my 4.5 month old Yorkie. I am thinking she probably is a red legged Yorkie. Her legs lost most of the hair, new is growing in but very slowly. Her ear hair doesn't seem to grow fast either. |
