| Some mornings Sophie does that too. She's 5 months old now and I haven't seen her do it in a week or so now. Maybe she's over it! LOL.

| I don't think they ever out grow their dislike for wet grass to potty on but if wet grass is the only thing between them and something they want to chase it won't bother them at all!!! My darling Gizmo was like that he would not potty in wet grass for anything but let him see a squirrel or rabbit across the yard and he would run through that wet grass in a heart beat. Now my sweet little Topper doesn't really like grass at all and prefers to just stay in the house and use a potty pad!

YT 2000 Club Member | I don't blam them for not wanting to get wet from the grass. My little Jeter hates the feel of wet grass too and he is a boy! He prefers the side walk or the back patio to the dewy grass every morning. I don't see it as a problem as long as any doodie gets cleaned up asap and not get tracked back in my house!

| I don't have any suggestions, but it made me think of my yorkie Willy. We went thru the same thing with him - he never did outgrow it. When I let him out into our backyard to avoid wet grass he would crawl underneath our grill, then run around the perimeter of the yard along the edge of the flower bed, make a hop as far into the yard as he could, potty, hop back, then run back the perimeter, back underneath the grill to come back inside. I think a lot of yorkies don't like getting their little paws wet. We have Oliver & Charlie now, and Oliver will suck it up and go. Charlie refused though. We've even tried carrying him out into the grass. He just freezes like a statue. We had such a hard time potty training him tho I guess I'm just happy he goes outside at all -- even on the sidewalk. |

| Callie hates wet grass too. I'm in Omaha and it's really humid here, so we get wet grass nightly, awesome At first, I just picked her up and plopped her into the grass, she took care of business right away and then bounced back to "dry land". Now she goes out there, but only to potty, no sniffing around when the grass is wet. She also balances on her front legs when she pees, its kind of funny she does this almost handstand yogaish type thing. It impresses me! She really hates the wet grass, but know when you gotta go you gotta go!

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Izzy is the same way with the wet grass but she is getting so much better at it. She is tiny and so low to the ground that we also found out that if the grass is too high she won't go on it either. Since it snows here a lot too she won't go (or can't go) in the deep snow so we have to shovel a clear path for her to go from the deck to the drive. That she has no problem in going but wet grass..hmmm..that's another story....but she will do her business on the driveway..go figure.
