| Yorkie or Silky Terrier? What do you guys think? Gracie, (changed her name from Georgie) is listed as Yorkshire Terrier on her papers. She definetly has a silky coat. She weighs about 11-12lbs. She seems alot more sturdy than Taz. Her facial hair doesn't seem quite like a yorkie, but I am not sure. I know she came out of MO. and most likely a puppymill, so possibly she was bred by a Yorkie & a Silky instead of 2 Yorkies. I just wanted to get some opinions from some of you who know the breeds better. (We love her no matter what she really is).

| She does look like she may be a Yorkie/Silky mix, but it's hard to tell not seeing in person. Silkys are bigger than Yorkies (which makes me think yes from the size, but there are some bigger Yorkies out there) and their faces are definately different. What does the vet think? She is very very cute!!!!

| Really hard to tell from those pics But like others, I think she looks like a silky mix. No worries there, because they're also great dogs. They're just quite a bit bigger and features are a little different. Not sure your vet will be able to tell. It really depends on the vet. I've met many vets who are extremely knowledgeable about some breeds, but not so much about others. The only way to know would be to have her DNA tested, and don't go there if she's just for a pet :S |

| I don't know if she is all Yorkie but she is cute. I love her ears. Sometimes being a Yorkie is all about attitude no matter what they look like on the outside! Any idea how old she is?

| She is 16 months old. She was purchased from someone who I think didn't want to try and resolve her allergy problems. She bites at one foot and has ear troubles. I have been trying some of the premium brands, Canidae, Evangers and Merrick so far. They like Canidae a little, but I tried the Evanger's Rabbit, which she LOVED. It looks like that is her food of choice so far.

| I would also say full Yorkie. A silky has a different face. As far as her facial hair I think it's just the way it has been allowed to grow in. Sorta far back from her face. I would have it cut and let all the facial hair come in at once therefore giving her the Yorkie look. Don't let size throw you off. Buddy is solid as a block of cement and is 16lbs. He's all Yorkie. He also has a very silky coat and it's beautiful. You have a Yorkie for sure. Congratulations and good luck with your little one. |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Hmmm....that's a toughy. I definitely do not think that she is FULL Silky....but maybe half. In the 3rd picture she looks to me like she could POSSIBLY have some Silky in her...but of course who really knows for sure? Now in the 4th (last) picture, she looks more Yorkie...so I really am not sure. Silky's faces ARE a little different, but if she was half Silky, half Yorkie...then it would still be really hard to tell as they are similar looking dogs. Whatever she is though, she is as cute as can be!

| I agree with the other poster, she looks full yorkie, just a poorly bred one, and being she came from MO and is probebly a puppymill dog, that would explain why she is poorly bred.
