| In my professional opinion (for what it's worth) - she's a cross between a Yorkie and a Gift from God. Enjoy her! She does have qualities of both the Yorkies and the Silkies but then gain, I've seen some purely bred Yorkies that have some SIlkie qualities. You have a beautiful girl!

| If you didn't get paperwork with the girl it would be safe to assume she may be a mix, but I'm thinking you already love her and it really doesn't matter that much. In defense of the "poorly bred" comment, I think the OP implied that with the question. Poorly bred does not mean not adorable, cuddly, loveable, and smoochie smoochable. JMHO I have a client that bought a puppy in Vegas while on vacation. The thought of getting the puppy from a far away place and bringing him home was very appealing. When the paperwork arrived a few weeks later he discovered that the puppy had been bred, raised, and shipped from a commercial breeder about 3 miles from his home here in Missouri. Puppymills are run by bad people..... bad people live everywhere. |

| I got Preston from a rescue, and I live in MO. I did get his papers with him. The reason he was at the rescue? He was "too big" to be sold. When we got him he was 5 months, and I can't really remember his exact weight, but over 5 lbs. He is now 13 lbs. and just turned 1 year old. Even though he came with papers, does that mean I know he is 100%? No, but my vet does think he is. At the same time, my daughter got a silky from the same rescue. Keebleer (her silky) is 11 lbs. They do look a LOT alike, but the silky seems to be more squared off than rounded in body shape. Where Preston has a tendency to look like a bear from the back, Keebler just looks more squared. Keebler is 1 month older than Preston. So now they have both probably reached their adult weights and we ended up with an 11 lb silky and a 13 lb yorkie. Go figure. I wouldn't have my pudgy little teapot any other way, poorly bred or not.

| I don't think she meant anything by saying that she was poorly bred! She is simply adorable as all Yorkies are! However being poorly bred would explain why the OP was wondering if she was a Yorkie or a mix. I am sure the OP will love her new baby no matter what! It is just a simple fact that some Yorkies are poorly bred and as a result will often show. Doesn't mean they are cute as a button or that they won't be loved! By the way I think she is all Yorkie too! Congrats on your new baby!

You should stop comparing apples with oranges meaning stop always comparing children situations with dog situations . Peoples often think that having a male and a female yorkie bred will always result in PERFECT PUPPIES. Get real . | |

In my house it's backwards, my silky ( 8lbs) is the smallest and my yorkies ( 10,16 lbs) are bigger.

| Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I would have to say that she is mixed with a Silky in the line somwhere if not a direct mix...her ears are more Silky like and her muzzle is a little longer than most yorkies, but like most have said you NEVER really know unless you DNA her. But that is not what is important...she is adorable and well loved and that is all that matters!! Here is a picture of our Heaven who is a CH. Silky Terrier so you can kind of see the difference in the a Yorkie:
