Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Two for surgeries today........ ........and I'm confident that all will go well, but a few prayers & well wishes couldn't hurt. My Lexie is going in to be spayed. She had a litter of pups last October and was a wonderful mama to 4 beautiful puppies, but because she is over standard size we have decided to have her spayed. Due to retaining some of his puppy teeth, Toby is going in today for some dental work to have them removed. He is almost 9 months old and only 3.7 lbs, so this one is a bit more worrisome for me, but again, I have full confidence in my veteranarian and am certain all will be well. But in any case, we will gladly accept any and all well wishes and prayers. Ill let you all know when they are home safe and sound. Thanks!

| I will be praying for your babies today! Sebastian had to have 2 surgeries, and I had full confidence in my vet too, but I was still a nervous wreck about it. I totally understand, but I'm sure everything will be fine!

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Well, dropped the babies off this morning @ 7:30am. In speaking with the vet tech, discovered that Toby will be able to come home this afternoon, but they want Lexie (with the spay surgery) to stay overnight! I hadn't even thought about that (though it sounds familiar now). They say they want her to have that "quiet" cage time to recover overnight, but....but..... Then on top of that, we have to work tomorrow and won't be able to pick her up until later in the day rather than earlier. I've tossed a few options in my mind; will she be calmer there kenneled to keep her quiet & still for her incision or kenneled at home. Yes she would be amongst family, but also maybe not quite as calm wanting to be out with the others. The fact that there is no one there overnight makes me think, "What's the point of staying then?", but she probably would get more restful rest not being around the others here at home. She's normally so wild and crazy, she wouldn't want to sit still for long being here. Right????? or not???? Thanks everyone for your prayers! What a great support group we have here on YT!

| Wish I had an answer for you. Have not gone thru a spay, just a neuter. I have to say that is when I had 2 pups and Zoe did want to play with Hot Rod. I had to separate them so he could have a quiet place. But then she was only 9 weeks old. I am not sure I could leave her but that's me. Good luck with which ever way you choose.
