| Going Pee Pee Prince Mishu is 4 1/2 months old Yorkie. He's being house trained and has to go pee pee after his many naps during the day. I take him out right after he wakes up but I'm wondering if its too much. Will he get use to going out so many times throughout the day or will the need to pee so much go away? Please help. |

| As with humans, I know when I wake up, I usually have to go!! He is still a bit young. So his bladder still can't hold it all that long. But I think that around the time he is 1, he will be able to hold it a bit longer. My Pom can hold it all day if need be. It's actually amazing! But that did take time. In a few more months, I wouldn't take him out so much so that he can start to hold it. And at night, if you haven't already, crate training is so helpful when trying to teach a dog to hold it. You aren't over doing it. At least he is waiting for you to take him outside. You're half way there! Good Luck!

| No, you are not over doing it. You still need to take him out every time he wakes up. What you will notice as he gets a little older is that he won't nap quite so often therefore he will probably be holding it longer. Sounds like you are doing great! |

Maggie is 5 months old. She can hold it from 9PM to 7AM. She is really full first thing in the morning. After her breakfast (8ish) she PP's again, and then not again until noon. After her afternoon nap, again outside about 4. Evening, it's usually around 7PM and then one last time before bedtime, right before 9. About a month ago, I started stretching the times that I take her outside. It seems to be working. Before I was taking her out every hour during the day and every 2 hours at night. Just by adding a few minutes each day, you can finally get down to a more reasonable PP outing trips. My goal is to get it down to about 4 a day, with winter just around the corner.
