As with humans, I know when I wake up, I usually have to go!! He is still a bit young. So his bladder still can't hold it all that long. But I think that around the time he is 1, he will be able to hold it a bit longer. My Pom can hold it all day if need be. It's actually amazing! But that did take time. In a few more months, I wouldn't take him out so much so that he can start to hold it. And at night, if you haven't already, crate training is so helpful when trying to teach a dog to hold it.

You aren't over doing it. At least he is waiting for you to take him outside. You're half way there!
