| Haven't been on YT for a WHOLE WEEK!!! Hi All!! I just got back from going home to visit my fam in El Paso and was so busy there that I didn't get to check YT for a WEEK!! I have been having major withdrawels so I had to come and say HI! I took Abbey with my and she flew on a plane for the first time and it was a bit of a disaster! She cried the whole time and I could not take her out of her bag! Everyone around me was staring at me and giving me annoyed looks but there was nothing I could do. I knew if I took her out and let her sit on my lap she would fall asleep and be quiet but the airline forbid it. On my first flight the attendants were really nice and loved dogs and came to tell me how cute she was and let me take her out and she just slept on my lap. They also told me it was fine to take her out and that they had actually had a dog escape and run around the cabin once before and that it was funny...hm, and they said that dog turned out the be Kirstie Alley's dog. Interesting. But on my second connecting flight the attendants would not let me take her out or even hold the bag on my lap so she whined very loudly the whole way! So terrible I felt so bad nothing could console her. I don't think i will fly with her again. I drove back with my sister (9 hour car ride) and she did GREAT! Slept the whole way and was very sweet. Other then that Abs had a blast staying at my mom's house. My mom also has a bigger yorkie, Minnie, who is 14 so I was worried how they would interact and it turned out OK. Minnie us pretty grumpy in her old age and did not want to play with Abbey but she eventually started liking her. My stepdad has a BIG mutt type dog he had rescued that has a few issues so is kind of mean (only trusts my stepdad, barks at everyone else and is hand shy bc he was abused) but he was soooooo sweet to Abbey!! Annnd Miss Abbey is doing VERY well in her potty training so she now gets to sleep with mommy in my bed instead of her crate and she LOVES IT. She wakes me up in the morning by licking me and tells me she needs to go outside, I am so proud of my little girl. She is not almost 6 months and still at about 3.5 pounds. Her growth has slowed down and I really don't think she will get too much bigger, hoping she grows a bit more bc she still very tiny. It was so relaxing to go home and see everyone...now it is back to work and summer school. But I'm also glad to be back to YT!!! Missed everyone around here...Thanks for reading my long post!!! Hehe.

| OMG ... I so know what you mean ... them Airlines act like you have a "Killing Machine" in your Bag .... Maya did the same thing and we took her out of her case .... (the Airline Attendant had a COW) ..... I felt sooooo bad for her being locked up for soooo long ... so I took her in the back where the NICE ladies where and had her walk around a bit to stretch ..... Anyway ... Welcome back !!!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome back, Glad you had a nice time. I don't know why they would rather have a crying puppy in a crate under the seat then a quiet sleeping puppy in our laps. As long as the dog is not causing any problems it should be ok

| That's what I was thinking, NOONE would even know I had a puppy with me if she was able to get out and just sleep on my lap. But bc I had to keep her in the crate it was bothering other passengers...it just seems silly.

| I'm a flight attendant and dog lover. I'll tell you this, if I don't see the dog out, like under the blanket, I will ignore it and I don't mind. Or if you come to the back and go in the bathroom and take the dog out. But if you take the dog out and we see it we are required by FAA regulations to tell you to put it back in the bag under your seat. It is an FAA rule, because of health rules, and the airline and the flight attendants can get fined. I know it is a stupid rule because we don't serve much food anymore for health rules but I don't want to get a fine or lose my job!! That is why some will be so adamant about it!! I see it from both sides since I travel with my dogs too!! I always wrap my bag in a blanket before I put it under the seat because one of the main reasons that dogs cry is because it is really cold on the floor. Also it makes the kennel dark and they can't see you to cry. Usually mine will then curl up and go to sleep. I've traveled with them for 17 years and usually have a positive experience by doing that! Hope this explains those "nasty" flight attendants!!
