| Does your Yorkie like water? We are going to have a mini heat wave here over the next couple of days. I was thinking about getting a little wading pool for the girls to pay in. When I took Gracie to the beach, the wake scared her. Her only other experience with being in water is with a bath. I'm not so sure that she or Holly would appreciate a wading pool, no matter how hot it gets. I was thinking of maybe testing the water so to speak by putting them in the bathtub with just a bit of water in it. What do you think? Does your Yorkie like to play in water?

| All 3 of mine HATE the water. Everytime I bathe them, they act like I am trying to kill them. They are very much like cats.

| Rigger LOVES to swim!! The first time we went to the beach he went straight into the surf and began swimming. He will also get in a pool and swim. I have also been considering getting a wading pool for him this summer. I think he would love it. |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | I tried filling the tub with water and letting them swim but that only scares them, i think it's cause they think they wont be able to get out. So i think that would be totally diff. than getting a small pool or something, if they can jump in and out as they want that would be good. Mine hate the water, except Sophie tolerates it. She stays still when i take her a bath, so does Teddy but i know he hates it! lol

| I agree with the previous post... Chewie LOVES taking a bath. As long as the water is warm, he'll just sit there and relax. He gets his baths in the kitchen sink with the veggie sprayer...LOL...Its really hard to comment about a pool. I'm sure if there's just enough water in there to wade around in and they don't feel confined, it should be fine. Nothing left to do but try it out. Good luck!

| That sounds like fun! Yoda and Winky will be over to the pool straight away! I'll believe the 85+ degree temps when it's actually 85 out... It IS Seattle, after all! My mini weather forecast thingy actually forecasted Rain a few hours ago when I looked at it! We had a kiddie pool one summer when we just had Yoda, he seemed to like it. It wasn't so deep, and it was hot out so he had fun jumping in and out of it, and playing in the yard. Winky probably would like it too, but that's just a guess! As others have said before, the tub is a bit different than a kiddie pool outside. Winky and Yoda both dread bath time, and they try to hide when they hear the water running for their baths... |

| We have an inground pool and both of my girls love to swim. They will go out in the pool on a float and then jump off and start swimming. The deep end is 8 feet but I try to keep them in the shallow end. It scares me when they get in the deeper water. Our shallow end is about 3 feet deep. I always try only to have one of them in the water at a time and I try to be there with them. Hopefully, this year we are getting life preservers for the girls. I don't know how Lucy will take to the water. We have only had her since March. She hates getting a bath.

| Zoe doesn't mind her bath but hates our pool....Lizzie hates her bath but doesn't mind the pool..last summer I was floating around on a floatie half asleep...and all of a sudden I heard some crying and I look over and there was Lizzie on a floatie right next to me....and then she jumped on mine....and even since then If I am in the pool she has to be on a floatie if I'm swimming or laying next to me on my floatie if I'm floating....and we keep all floaties out of the pool if we are not outside cause I really think she would float even if weren't are in there....crazy... |
