| UPDATE!! Neighbors dog attacked Abbey...AGAIN! WOW. So...I wrote a post a few weeks ago about how I took Abbey out and one of the girls that lives in the same building as me (and who I know fairly well) has 2 huge dogs and they both went after Abbey. Well, I got a lot of helpful ideas on how to deal with this...I chose to go talk to the girl and tell her that she needs to keep her dogs on leashes and I will also start taking Abbey on a leash NO MATTER WHAT. Well...everything had been fine for a while and there were no hard feelings or anything, but just now I took Abs out and one of my other neighbors was out there with her weenie dog (one of the few Abbey "size" dogs Abbey feels comfortable playing with) and Abs and the weenie were running around playing. All of the sudden, the girl with the 2 big dogs comes out and only ONE of them is on a leash. Abbey was right there )her leash is one that extends pretty far out) and the dog just lunged at her and pinned her down. She was screaming and crying as they tussled her around. We immediately descended on them on broke it up. Abbey didn't have any cuts or anything but she was very shaken up and had peed all over herself. Ugh! The girl with the 2 big dogs just started screaming "Oh my god, I hate my dogs!!" and was HITTING her dog that had attacked Abbey. I had to ask her AGAIN to ALWAYS keep BOTH dogs on leashes bc they could really KILL my 3 pound dog with one snap. She apologized and agreed that it was not OK. I ran inside to fully check Abbey out and she was acting really "little" (as we say, acting like a baby). I felt so bad for her. I wonder if she is always going to have a fear of other dogs now. I'm sure after this, the 2 big dogs will be kept on leashes. But this is just another event that makes me terrified to even take Abbey out. Isn't it stressful having such a delicate dog??? From now on, when I go take Abs out on her leash, I am going to check to see if there are other people out first, and if there are I won't go. And if we are out and someone does come out, I'm picking her up and bringing her in. I thought having a doggy would help me be closer to my other neighbors bc they all have dogs, but now it is just causing a big rift. My baby is most important and I just feel that people with "big" dogs have NO IDEA how protective you have to be when you have a small one. OK, done venting.

Donating YT Addict | Your so much nicer than me. I would have after this second attack told her she needs to get rid of those dogs and since she "hates" them that shouldn't be difficult, then I'd go to the building management. It's not fair your Babies are at risk all the time. It's nice that your so kind and level headed

Ughhhh I am TOO nice, I do this all the time in all kinds of situations... As long as her dogs are on leashes from now on I don't think I will complain to management. But they will NEVER come in contact with Abs again, I'm lucky she wasn't hurt.

| OH MY GOODNESS... You are WAY nicer that I am!!! There are leash laws for this very same reason. I personally would have phoned animal control followed by ground management. Hugs to Abbey... Glad to hear that she wasn't seriously injured. |

I would call SPCA right away if I was you... Thanks god your baby is ok.... you should encourage her to play with other friendly dogs right now... so won't be traumatize by other dogs in the long run... |

I didn't want her to hit the dog either. I cannot bring myself to call animal control. These dogs have a good home with this girl and she loves them and I don't want to take them away from her, I just want her to be more responsible.

| SPCA do not take dogs away after receiving only one call, IF they get a few complain, then they will go check on the dog and give a verbal warning to the owner... nothing more... I just think that someone should tell this girl that hitting the dog for sure won't help with the aggression problems.. thats all. I just get soooooo sad when someone hit there dog.... What really matter anyway is that you precious little one is safe... You are a good mommy!! |

| First of all it doesn't sound like an aggression problem exactly. It sounds like her dogs are not properly socialized or disiplined. how old is this girl? These dogs sound as if they could definatly hurt something or someone if this "pinning-down" dominance behaviour isn't stopped. Invite her to yorkietalk! (even though she doesn't have a yorkie she could learn alot)

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Even in a rental property that allows pets...those pets must NOT be a nuisance to other tenants....at this point she isn't being responsible. I would contact management...and have it documented each and every time.

| So glad that Abbey is okay. It is a shame that other people don't realize what damage their animals can do.
