| staryorkie raffles for a free teacup puppy Hello, for the past month I've gotten 2 emails from http://staryorkie.com. They said they're giving away 1 free teacup puppy. The "entrance fee" is only $5.00. It's a puppy raffle. Here's their email: On 04-25-08 we will give away a tiny tea cup Yorkie (Yorkshire terrier) puppy to one lucky person. To get your chance of winning this amazing bundle of joy, visit our website: WWW.STARYORKIE.COM Thank you for your time, Have a nice day. Ben & Gina Star Yorkie Kennel Anyone know if they're a puppy mill or what their operation is like? I'm a bit surprised to see something like this. And why do they phrase the purchase of their puppies as "Adopt this puppy for $4000" instead of just "Selling for $4000"? I don't get it. |

| Oh it's not a scam per se....it's just they are trying to get more money....if enough people buy tickets to get a free puppy they will make a lot more than if they just sold it directly to someone. I just would think they would want to know who was getting the puppy and no just let a random person win it. This is who I bought Teddi from and I am so very glad I got exactly what I wanted (except for the liver shunt that I didn't not relize I was getting as a bonus!).

| Scam I am sure this is a scam and there is no yorkie, just a lot of silly people who will send them $5.00. Who on earth would fall for this kind of scam? |

| A "breeder" using the term "tea cup" is red flag enough for me.

| They are a "legitimate" business if you want to call them that. They are about a mile from where I live, have been slammed time and again for their selling of unhealthy puppies and they import all their puppies from overseas. I cam across them when I was looking for breeders in Los Angeles. I seriously doubt they will give away a puppy in the end...

| I just think it is strange that $5.00 can make you the new parent of a yorkie. No "background check" or anything like that? The breeder we we got our pups from made sure to meet with us, talk to us and made sure that we were going to be caring and responsible yorkie parents. I am glad she did it, made me realize she was protective of her babies and only wanted them to have the best life they could.

| I would be really interested to know where they got our e-mail addresses. Some how they had to have been sold to them. I am so particular about who gets my e-mail address I don't understand how they got it?

| It says on the FAQ page of the web site that the puppies are from Korea. They only have a waiting period of 1-4 weeks if the puppy you want is not available. To me that says these are Korean puppy mill dogs shipped over here to sell for big bucks. Maybe I'm wrong, but I wouldn't buy from them.
