| We are changing Ava's name Its only been a week and a half and my husband doesnt like Ava. The more I think about it, it doesnt suit her personality. So here is what we have come up with, whats your fave? she is a very happy playful spastic little puppy, if that helps you decide Roxy Mia (i know someone else here has a pup named Mia, sorry ) Brit (like britney) Kiki Any suggestions would also be appreciated!! | I went thru the same thing with my Mia. When I first got her I wanted to name her Ellie and tried it for about 2 days...It just didn't fit her & nobody liked it but me, Then my 17 year old son wanted me to name her Kylie, so we tried Kylie for a day or so. She wouldn't respond to either and Bentley (my maltese) would look at me and run up to me every time I tried calling her. So I started to wonder if the ending "ie" sound was confusing both of them..sounding too much like Bentley. Thought maybe they were just picking up on the ie ending sound. Then one of my sons friend thought Mia was pretty. I tried it and and she ran to me first time I called her Mia. She was about 15 weeks old at the time and went thru 3 names in less than a week. She's now 18 months old and I love her name. On her papers she's Renoir's MiaBella Blue. Just fluffed it up a little for her AKC name. I think there are a couple of Mia's on this forum. Brittany's teeny tinny Mia is Mia Bella with a space between the two names. There are so many pretty girl names out there. It's fun finding the perfect one.

I like Roxy alot, but Kiki is very unusual. It's hard to decide on a name. I wanted Raven to be named Chloe, but my daughter said Raven was more like a rebel. Kim

There are 4 mia's that I know of so far. Brittany's, Goldcupmom's, R4sons and Luvmypupster's. But there's always room for more. I like Roxie. But I actually love Ava. I was thinking about naming my next one that if I get another. But if it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit. I had picked Cecilia's name before she was even born. Luckily it fit her. Good luck with the decision. Last edited by camillek; 01-13-2005 at 04:41 PM.

I always liked Maggie for a dog, but Archie was a boy and...well, my future mother in law's name is Margaret so it would be a bit awkward. I met two dogs named Zoey in one week...Dog names are fun. At first, we were going to name our yorkie Dougal after a great character on an Irish TV show Father Ted. But then, Archie suited him better so we had to change it the next day.

I love Kiki, but couldn't name Molly that as it is my little sister's name. Talk about spunky - my little sis is only 5' tall and 100 pounds and she is a licensed pilot, mountain & rock climber, deep sea diver and has a PHD in bio-chemistry. Kiki definately means adventure and high energy to me! Val

I like Kiki (and unique, more different names), but Roxy is cool as well. She'll grow into the new name in no time!
