| My first time posting! Hello to my fellow yorkie lovers!!!! I'm Devaney, and this is my very first time posting (although I have read countless threads). Kiya is my 3 lb, fully grown yorkie. She's 3 years old, and I just got her a month ago today. I've been dealing with trying to move, as my landlord JUST recently decided not to allow pets where I live, so here we are, about to embark on this new journey together. I wouldn't lose her for the world. She is truly my baby. I just wanted to take a moment to officially introduce myself to the community. I am happy to finally find a place where I can talk to other yorkie owners. There are some health concerns that I have, which I will definitely bring up at some point. For example, how can one know if a yorkie has allergies vs. a cold, or how can you train your yorkie to become more receptive to teeth brushing? These are questions I will definitley be posting. I've also got some great, positive-reinforcing trainings that I have been doing with Kiya that she is very respnsive too as well, so I'll be sure to post those too from time to time. If anyone has any general advice on the love and care of yorkies, always feel free to message me. Thanks so much already. I look forward to collaborating with you all! Have a happy Friday everybody!!!

| welcome to YT and i wish you and kiya the best of luck in your new move & journey! i am not sure about the cold vs allergy question but for the teeth brushing, just find a pet toothpaste that she likes the taste of...do not push it right away - just let her lick the toothpaste off the toothbrush...let her get used to your putting your fingers (or the toothbrush if she does not seem to mind it ) in her mouth and touching her teeth and gums ... then try to brush a bit, try to brush longer the next time, etc...i am no expert but this has helped with my babies! mine are still squirmy when i brush their teeth but you just have to be persistent they will eventually learn (i hope! lol) that you are going to win and they WILL get their teeth brushed good luck and post any questions you might have! welcome again!

| Hi Devaney, Welcome to you and Kiya Good luck on your journey together. That sounded so sweet. Sorry about your landlord but good luck in your move. I don't know anything about allergies vs colds but I can suggest a product called petzlife for her teeth. www.petzlife.com should explain how it works. You can use your finger to apply it and not worry about the brush until you get Kiya use to going into her mouth. Would love to see pictures of your pretty girl. |

| I have been using petzlife with Kiya for about a week now, and Oh My GOODNESS!!! It's so great you've mentioned that because I'm going to send a letter to the company. It's been such a HUGE an improvement with Kiya. I'm trying to attach a photo of her for my profile...I'll be getting that up soon. But I absolutely LOVE petzlife.
