| Ears - do they stand up on their own? Joey is 4 months old. When will his ears stand up? They are still very floppy. Should I definitely get his ears shaved to get them to stand up sooner, or will they stand up on thier own? |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | during the time that they are teething they will go up and down. you probably shouldn't tape them because of how old he is but i'm not sure. i think he is adorable with his ears up or down and i know you do too!! he's so cute!!!!

| Sometimes When They Have Too Much Hair In The Ears It Weighs Them Down.so Your Best Bet Is Too Shave Them I Think.i Have A Friend That Has A Boy Yorkie And His Ears Flopped So She Did That And Now They Are Standing Up.

| If he were my dog I would clipper his ears on inside and outside and have the hair pulled from inside of his ears. I would go ahead and tape them or if you prefer, massage them starting at the base and working toward the tips. As MeganS said, the ears will go up and down when teething or stressed or when the puppy has shots, etc. He is cute no matter how his ears are.. |

| If you are hoping they will go up, you will need to shave the ears. The hair really weighs them down. Have they never been up? |

nope - they have never been up yet. sometimes his left ear flops backwards too (actually it does this a lot). I know he is cute no matter what, but I hope his ears will go up soon. | |

| The furthest we got was one ear up one ear down...I wanted Sammi's ears to stay floppy anyway so I didnt shave em...But, if you want Joey's ears to try and get up there, I would shave the tips... Good Luck!! Fran and Sammi (In this pic Sammi was 4 months old)

| Fred's ears were up by the time he was 12 weeks when we picked him up from the breeders. What she did was shave the back and then tape them a little bit and theywere perked up and have never been down since! |

| Since he is 4 months and you want those ears up, I would take Rini's advice and get all of the hair off boths sides and have the inner ear hair plucked ASAP. You may also want to give some cottage cheese for some extra calcium since he is teething. If that doesnt work, you may want to get your vet or groomer to tape them. Good luck!

| Indiana's ears just started standing up. He is 5mos and his ears are pretty big, he's going to be a bigger yorkie, probably around 9lbs. I was shaving them myself everyweek in the v that they recommend, but it wasn't helping. Wanted to make one last attempt to get them up so when I took him to the groomer I told her to shave most of his ears. When i went to pick him up they were standing and have been up ever since. I think he needed more hair taken off to get them to stand because they were bigger. |
