YT 2000 Club Member | My big scare with Jeter I was getting diner ready for my kids and Jeter had just cam in from going outside. He likes to lay over the heat register in the living room after he comes in from going potty to warm up. Our heat registers are big and have a decorative grate on them and they are in the floor, Our house is over 100 years old if this helps give you a mental picture. I was just calling the boy's to the table and I look out to the living room and see Jeter hunched down and he is digging at the grate.I go over to see what is wrong with him and hear his tags got caught I lifted the grate and Jeter up and my son undid his collar and got the tags free. Now he has both a collar and harness, we never hook his leash on his collar, his collar is because we live in the city and dogs have to have tags on to show that they have had rabies and are registered. I was so worried that he had hurt himself but he was fine, just a bit stressed out from the scare. I have now taken off his collar and have it on the leash handle for when he goes outside, they are still visible so we wont get fined for not having tags.

| This happened to both of mine a few weeks back. Blaze was completely stuck, my hubby had to remove the vent because it was pulling Blaze down so tight that we could not even get his collar off of him. Autumn got stuck but pulled the vent out when she tried to move. Luckily I was standing right there or she could of gotten herself very hurt had she run around the house w/that heavy vent stuck to her neck! I am just glad that I crate them when I am not home, I could not imagine if they were free when I was not home and this happened during that time!

| That's awful. I know you were thinking what if I had not been here? I'm glad it turned out ok. Believe it or not, that is not the first time I've read of that happening. I've even read of them getting them caught in fences. Spooky!

YT 2000 Club Member | I was scared to death, the way he was choking cause it was so tight against his little neck I had to hold him still up against my chest while holding the grate closer to him to loosen how it was pulling him down. I thought I was going to have to cut his collar off, but my son was able to get it off. No collar on his neck for now, that was just to scarry. I was trying to fallow the law that our city has, but I looked and it did not say that the collar tags had to be on the dog's neck, so I have it on his leash handle. A lady that lives 3 houses over has a little Pom and she is now doing the same thing with her collar, she said you wouldn't believe some of the things that her Pom has gotten it caught on. Jeter's collar was even a brake a way one and it did not brake away I am glad that nothing bad happen to you guy's pups that had simular experiences. Thank Goodness it happened when we were home to help them!
