Luv my 7 Furkids Donating Member | Anyone have ideas to stop my boys from fighting? One is already fixed, the other I had fixed yesterday and I'll be darned if he didnt start a fight today. And he is like a pit bull he clamps on and wont let go. I separate them when we leave the house, I dont dare let them together unchapperoned. He doesnt bother the girls just Dakota. Any suggestions? I just wont tolerate them fighting, thats about the only thing they really get in trouble for. Im at my witts end. I dont want to have to get rid of anyone. I was hoping getting both fixed would help. Maybe it will take a little while????? |

| Give it some time. It does take time for all the hormones to leave the system, I believe I read somewhere it was several weeks to maybe even a month or more. If that doesn't work, you should call a behaviorist in your area and get them to come in and help you out.

| The truth of the matter is that even if both dogs are fixed the fighting might not stop. Dogs are just like humans from the standpoint, they don't all like each other. I had two male rescues that were both neutered and I always had to keep an eye on them, even 2 years later. When they got into it, one was going to kill the other. Best advise at this point is to keep them separated when you leave, watch for signs that create the fights (in my case it was toys-so no toys in the house) and try to step in when you see one circling the other or putting their neck over the others neck.
