| I wished I would have gotten two!!! Seriously, I just think its the best for the babies to have a brother or sister to have with them to play with, keep company when you are gone, etc. I guess it more depends on your lifestyle. Are you going to be gone a lot, if so, its great for them to have one another. Money, twice the vet bills, toys, outfits, food, etc...is that okay with your budget. I was supposed to be getting Parker a sister and some things happened and we aren't able to yet. The breeder (I got Parker from) herself told me in less then a month you will be calling me back wanting another one ( I wished I had listened) because she was SO right! To me two is ALWAYS better then one! Last edited by parker; 01-12-2008 at 02:26 AM. |

| I wish that I would have got two when I got my Tinkerbell, but looking back I made the right desision at the time. There are a few things you have to consider before getting one or even more. In the first year of their lives you are going to have vet bills. Normal stuff such as shots, puppy teeth removal, spaying or nuturing, and vet checks. Unexpected stuff such as broken bones, getting sick, and whatever else that may come up which does happen. When you have 2 multiply all those bills by 2. Grooming: Pros- You will have two beautiful babies. Con- They do take a lot of work. If you have them professionally groomed it will be twice the cost. Potty training: Pro- if one is doing good the other one usually will get the hint and will mimic the one that is getting the treats. Con- Staying on top of both of them during the potty training phase can be hard work. Sleeping arrangement: Pro- You will have to cuddle buddies and two shadows with whatever you do. Con- Do you have enough room? (Yeah I know that one is a hard one, but I could not find a con for that one. LOL) I wish you good luck in whatever you deside. If you can financially do it I would say go for it, but if you have any doubt in your mind that you can not I would say hold off on your second one for a bit and see how everything goes with the first one. There is always a second one out there just waiting to be loved. P.S. I can't wait to see pictures

| Go for both of them! I wish that I had gotten my second one earlier that way there wouldn't be as much as an age difference. They really enjoy the companionship of having another buddy to play with. I hope you get both, thats just twice the fun!

| like the others have said, if you can comfortably afford it (and can take care of emergencies should they arise) TWO is wonderful! i got my two 2 days apart and i am so glad i did...they play with each other and entertain each other but will come to me for food, snuggling, loving, etc...i also think this helps with socialization as they are always around at least one other furbabe ... good luck in whatever choice you make i am ready for a third or fourth or ... lol

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Financial is the only downside and even that is not bad if you get 2 healthy puppies. In 38 years of owning dogs I always had one at a time then 2 years ago I got a second and wondered why I never did that before. They love having canine company. I now have 4!

| I agree - if you have the time and money, go for it! It's fun watching them grow up together. I always think if people were adopted by dogs.... if we were the only human in the household - we would miss out on so much not being able to communicate with one of our own or play or whatever. Just being isolated from other humans, you know? I think that's how it is with a dog - to never be able to live with another of your species and interact and play, etc..... Sounds dumb but that's how I feel about it. |

| Well when I got Jamie I was sure I would only want 1. But then about a week in I started wishing he had a playmate. On the other hand all of the puppy bills at once would have been too much for me. SO now I am looking into getting a little sister for Jamie after he is nuetered on the 30th. That way all of Jamie's initial vet expenses (i.e. puppy shots and nuetering) are already out of the way and I can comfortably handle the financial responsibility of the new girl. While Jamie may have been a little lonely the first couple of days I went to work, he settled into a routine where he pretty much sleeps while I'm working. So in the end it is working out for the best I think.
