like the others have said, if you can comfortably afford it (and can take care of emergencies should they arise) TWO is wonderful! i got my two 2 days apart and i am so glad i did...they play with each other and entertain each other but will come to me for food, snuggling, loving, etc...i also think this helps with socialization as they are always around at least one other furbabe ... good luck in whatever choice you make
