| Need To Vent... I rarely post but, I had an emergency with Muffin today. And, thought I do it here with people that would understand how I am feeling. I took Muffin her in for her annual routine exam and our Veterinarian found a huge abdominal hernia. Apparently, our old Veterinarian never repaired an umbilical hernia when she was spayed over a year ago. Now, internal scarring at the spay sight is causing her internal organs to protrude profusely. All along I have been thinking that she was just pudgy as a result of her being spayed and walking funny because of LP 2/3 knees. And, poor Muffin has been suffering. Although she is scheduled for surgery at 8AM on Monday to make her feel all better, I am just sick. I feel like her suffering this long is all my fault. My husband, the sweet heart that he is, says that I should seek legal actions against the old Veterinarian. But, I just want Muffin to feel better. I even went out and bought her a new extra fluffy new bed and bullysticks for her post recovery. Boy, do I feel bad today... Thanks for listening. |

| Poor baby! This is NOT your fault! Please don't blame yourself. I am so glad you have a new vet though. Wow! I'll be praying for you both on Monday. Please give us an update. I am so sorry!

| That is terrible what that vet did (or didn't do).......I hope you don't beat your self up on this, you had no reason to believe there was anything was wrong with Muffin, you didn't do anything intentionally, but that vet did.... Thank goodness Muffin will be feeling better soon, thanks to you.... If you want to do any reading on vet. malpractice you can look at this link, sometimes letting a person get away with things like this discourages them doing better in their practice....Good luck and keep us posted on Muffin's surgery... http://www.animallaw.info/articles/a...practice.htm#I

| Not your fault darlin', the vet is the one who is supposed to recognize these things. I am sorry your baby is suffering, hopefully surgery will fix her right up! ~Melody

| Awww, poor thing. Don't blame yourself, you have no way of knowing. The good thing is that you have a new veterinarian that is going to do the right thing and fix her. Just give her lotsa love and kisses and she'll be better before you know it.

| Oh gosh! Thanks for the link. I'll definitely look into it once Muffin is out of surgery on Monday. I was not thinking along the lines of pursuing anything legally. But, once my husband mentioned it, I got to thinking... I've been back in his office with Muffin for various things, Rabies, UTI, etc. that he could have noticed her intestines and stomach were not where the should be - Let alone severe scar tissue!!! |

| Kelly I am so sorry to hear about Muffin. Please don't blame yourself, it wasn't your fault. But I would consider taking action against your old vet. I can't believe he never noticed it!! I would be furious with him. The important thing is that Muffin is getting treated all thanks to you. You are such a wonderful mommy to her. I will pray that her surgery goes smoothly and that she will have a speedy recovery.

| Poor Muffin. I will keep her in my prayers. As for you, you did nothing wrong. In fact you did all the right things. It was the vet who screwed up.

| Kelly I hope you won't think this is your fault because IT ISN'T. That vet of yours obviously does not care enough to do the right thing . . . .I don't know how to go about seeking legal advise, but if you do happen to have a lawyer friend, maybe you can ask advise without having to pay money . . . I probably will be so furious that I would go back to that vet and &^%$&%^%^*%#@ at him . . . I will pray for muffin . . . . .Annika and Tiger sends warm and wet kisses |
