| Anybody ever heard of... free Yorkies? I was looking for Breeders in OK when I stumbled across this: http://united-states.mercattel.com/h...-adoption.html I e-mailed them to see if they still had the puppies. She e-mailed me back with all sorts of information: tina is a tiny yorkie puppy. She is AKC registered and is healthy as can be!!! She is all up to date on shots and is ready to travel to her new home wherever it might be. She had two brothers but they have already been shipped out so she is kinda lonely and needs a new home!!! Her mother weighs 4 pounds and father weighs 3 both with there ears up.She weighs 2.8pounds and will become 4.82 when fully grown. She is Registered Pedigree Health Guarantee Certificate of Veterinary Inspection Micro-Chipped (In case ever lost or stolen) Current on all vaccinations Wormed Puppy Packet (Toys, Dog bones, Vaccination schedule and history, Crate Training info., Potty Training info.) Already Paper Trained Travel Crate with shipping Raised in a loving home not a Kennel We offer delivery to most major airports. We even take care of all the details. You simply meet your new baby at the airport and shower her with love..Get back so that we talk on how she gets to reach you. ?i am located in the central lake of long beach limbe cameroon. Best Regards I'm currently searching for my very first baby yorkie and this seems INCREDIBLY suspicious to me. I doubt I will be accepting such a dog, but I was curious as to what everybody thought. Have you heard of this before? Btw, I'm a newbie here. Hopefully I can find a baby soon! Love, Diana |

| I'm in a bit of a hurry, so can't look closely now.....but it does sound incredibly suspicious. Why would anyone be offering these puppies free? It's unusual to find even one that someone wants to rehome come with all this for free--but I notice there are several such ads on this site. Was there any mention of them sending you a money order to be cashed and the $ sent back to them, or something like this? |

| Do NOT fall into this trap. So many people have, and I myself almost did a few months ago when I was looking for my own baby. Basically, it's a puppy scam. If you google 'puppy scam', it'll show you tons of articles, and the emails I recieved from said scammers, were exactly like that. Ridden with horrible grammar and punctuation, not to mention they'll likely tell you the baby is in Nigera and they're volunteers with the Red Cross or something down there. I got 3 emails all exactly like that one....don't fall for it. |

| If it sounds too good to be true than it is! They will want you to send money to ship the pup and you will never see the pup or the money again...don't do it! |

| Yeah, the offer is for a "free" puppy. They will ask you to send the money for the shipping and of course never send you the puppy. They disappear with your money...

| Scam!!! It is a scam!! Cameroon is the number one place they try pulling scams off for yorkies and other breeds. Nigeria is another. They will say the dog is free and then when you decide you want it they will say they need a small fee around $200 for the shipping. Of course they never have the dogs, they just want to get your money. So stay from away from them!! I have to admit these scammers are getting better each day. They seem to be improving on their English. I wish there was a way we could stop all of them. If you want to have a little fun, tell them you are flying over and would like to pick the dog up in person!!

| SCAM!!!!!!! I have had several people try to use the same letter or some variation of it on me. Tell them that you will send them the money AFTER they send you the puppy and verify health - you will never hear from them again because they will know the you know they are trying to scam you! I got lucky & really did get my female for free but that is only because I happened across an add with a local phone number (no email crud) selling puppies & I called to see if he had any girls left, he didn't have any female puppies but he had an older female that got picked on by his other females. He is an elderly gentleman who's wife had recently passed away from cancer and he didn't know what to do with all her babies. This one little girl was very passive & the other 2 (mother & daughter) were very aggressive to her. He lives about 9 miles away from me and said if I would come get her I could have her. We still talk to each other about once every 2weeks or so & I keep him updated with pictures of her and a little boy I bought from him later. His daughter-in-law had a Christmas present (pearl necklace & new bows for her top knot) ready for her when I went by to pick up my little boy.

| I wish you luck, but sometimes getting a healthy, happy yorkie means waiting to find a quality breeder, waiting for a litter to be born, and waiting for the perfect yorkie to come home. You wouldn't want to rush into it and make a mistake...

You are sooo right! That's exactly what I did to get my 2nd yorkie... Max. He is so happy & healthy... and I know that he came from a reputable breeder who had their health and happiness in mind when she bred them - NOT money. And please don't think that when you buy from a good breeder that it will cost more than the stores because it's quite the opposite. Good Luck - be patient and the right one will come along. Remember these babies can live to a very ripe old age - so it's a long term commitment.
