| You can order Forbid from Amazon.com. You add it to their food and it makes the poo taste yucky. Also I think a really good quality dry food would help. I did both of these things and Talula stopped eating her poo in about a week.

| they have all kinds of stuff out there..you can get forbid from the vet, and there is stuff called potty mouth, deter, meat tenderizer, and others have said pineapple in their food..it's very normal..My son put tobasco sauce on his puppies poop the other day..we're having the same problem..hopefully, they will outgrow it.. |

| My dog did/does this too. The forbid type products did not work, gave her diarrhea. I just take my dogs out potty, wait for them to go and rush them back in the house. It takes constant monitoring; what a nasty habit. And I really don't think it's about what type of food you feed (per previous post), I feed one of the best and if I allowed her, she would still do it.

| Ha ha, yeah, you would think it would taste yucky! But for some reason the food doesn't digest all the way and to a puppy it still smells/tastes like food to them. EW. When my puppy came to me she was on Eukenuba and after I switched her to Canidae and used the Forbid for oh, about a week and a half, the poo eating stopped. I tried the meat tenderizer trick first and it didn't work for me. But it's pretty common if you do a search on YT for 'eating poop'

| The vets say meat tenderizer or pineapple..The potty mouth stuff worked good for mine..I don't think it has anything to do with the food..5 of my dogs never have eaten poop, the little one is the one that does it, although, she's not doing it like she was...And mine were on canidae! so, it's really not the food.. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | We used Solid Gold's S.E.P. (Stop Eating Poop) and it worked IMMEDIATELY! It was so great. We used it for about a month, then stopped, and Wylie never ate his poo again. The other thing to just think about is - what are you feeding? Bc the higher quality the diet, the higher chance that their poo doesn't have undigested filler in it, thereby making it tasty.

| I agree that it is disgusting and but very normal. I feed my pups Canidae and Chicken Soup but they still do it. I just try to get to it first. It is just a puppy thing that they normally outgrow. I think they pick it up from their mom's when they are really little, after all, the moms eat puppy poop until the babies are weaned (thank goodness). |

| When Otis first started doing it made me so sick, I would always tell him "NO" and then clean it up. When he came to me he was on Puppy Chow and I switched him to a better food and now he doesn't do it anymore I don't know if it was the better food or me always telling him no after he poops when he goes to smell of it.. It may be both! But, I think they grow out of alot of it also.. My moms Yorkie "Murphy" he did it alot when he was a puppy even with her telling him no, now he is 6yrs old and he doesn't do it anymore either. So, they all probably go through these puppy bad habit and then grow out of them...

| Unfortunately, not all of them outgrow it..My mom has hers on a prescription diet from the vet, her one still does it and he's almost 5, and I've known some older than that that still do it..Ginger isn't doing it like she was, but, I will still find her doing it occasionally...Glad we dont' have some of their nasty habits |

| My dogs eat very well... and only one of them insists on eating poo and she is 2 years old. The pineapple - I tried juice and it didn't help - does anyone know if actually eating the pineapple chunks makes a difference? It is disgusting but just normal stuff for them, unfortunately. |

| Mine will never stop eating her poop. She's two now and you have to watch her like a hawk. When she poops you have to be right behind her to scoop it up. |
