| Will Skip be harder to train seven months old? My new darling little boy will be coming home with me in a couple of days. He is seven months old and never been trained. What is the best method to train him? I would love to have him go outside to potty only but I will pad train if needed. Could I train him with both or would this confuse him? |

| I think it's confusing to teach them both ways. Being that he's a little older it should be a little easier to train him, as his bladder is a little bigger now. I would start out by crate training him.

| Thanks! I don't want to confuse him. I will crate train him. I heard it will be easier for him to hold it longer bc he is older. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I got Pixie at 13 months and she was not housebroken at all. So Cali was pad trained and my Pom goes outside. I started with confining her to my bedroom with pee pads everywhere. Gradually I took some away until there were just the 2 Cali uses. Pixie never quite got the pee pad concept and would pee whereever she felt like it. Just in the past 6 weeks she started running to the back door to let me know she wants to go out and she has decided she prefers to go outside. I do worry she still goes in the house if I miis her que or she feels like it. I have had her 9 months. I think 7 months will be a lot easier than 13 months to train. I think with Pixie being in a large run for her first 13 months she never got the concept of only peeing in a designated spot in doors. If I had to do it over I would have trained her to go outside from the start,
