| Congrats on your new addition. I think you are rushing it too fast. You just got him 2 DAYS ago! First, potty training. Do you know the history of his potty training before you got him? If it was from a previous family, they should of has started on him awhile ago. But if you got him from a petstore and such, he probably was never seen the light of day and has no idea he should go outside. See what I'm getting at. My advice to you is too keep an eye on him all time when he is inside and if you can't, crate or confined him to an area with floors that can be easily cleaned. Put him on a potty schedule. Young puppies need to go out about 15-30 minutes after that eat or drink. Their schedule should to reflex that and not just going outside and hope he pee or poop. You may also think about buying pee pee pad or laying newspaper down. As for training. Food is the key. If you do a search, here are a ton of post on how to teach your dog all sort of thing. And it is okay to say "NO" to your dog. You have the role of his parent and as a good parent you have to teach Louie right from wrong and "NO" is just one way of doing it. Anyway, good luck and don't loose patience. Sometimes it takes a lot of time to train but it is worth it when you finally get them to do it. |
