| Not the first time She pee'd on the bed I Love my Yorkie Trillian to death, but she had peed on the bed more than once in her life ... only being 8 months old I know she will sometimes have accidents. This dog made no attempt to get up from sleeping, and just pee'd right next to me in the bed. I think thats a little weird for an animal to just pee where they are sleeping. Its probably about the 3rd time she has done this. I dont normally let her sleep in the bed. My husband who just came home from iraq loves the dog .. ( so do i) but wants her to sleep in the bed with us. I told him that this wasn't a good idea. Normally I put her in the kennel next to us and 98% of the time she dosn't have any problems. Sometimes she does have an accident but she at least makes the effrot to get up whine, or get the urine or poop away from where she would sleep. I have never seen a dog just sleep and pee at the same time. I dont know what to do but I know her not sleeping in the same bed is a start. |

Alot of people on this board feel strongly about sleeping with their Yorkies. I'm not one of them. If it wasn't the first time my pup had peed on my bed, it would sure be his last time - he wouldn't be allowed on the bed anymore!

| Welcome to YT. Until she had her potty manners down pat I wouldn't allow her to sleep on your bed. You could put her in a small crate next to your bed, so she'll still be near your husband, but not peeing on your bed.

Donating Yorkie Yakker | We had Skippy everywhere but in our bed for the first year. Now that he is trained,no accidents unless we are gone long, he sleeps at our feet. I like having him there- he is not a cuddler so it's nice to have him close. |

| Dakota isn't potty trained, but she sleeps in her bed, on my bed?. But shes only peed 1 time, but when she gets up I take her out, I hardly ever let her play on my bed, just incase. Because its takes FOREVER for my down comforter to dry. |

| I don't think you can have them on your bed until you have potty training established. Ruby is6 months old and she sleeps in the crate until she whines anywhere between 3am-6am at which time I take her out and then when we return to the bedroom THEN she can come on the bed for the last part of the morning. We get out of bed by 6:30am everyday.

| We pee pad trained, recently Vinnie house broke himself with no prompting from us (smart little bugger!) I can take him out after work and he can pee two times while he's out there and yet one time he still peed on my bed when I went upstairs to change out of my work clothes, I believe he just holds it all day and is too impatient to get it all out, hence why he pees twice during one trip outside. So even when pottytrained accidents will still happen, as long as it's not intentional. I have no qualms about letting Vinnie in bed, it's my choice to have him so I figure i must pay the consequences. Humans domesticated them, they may be our babies but first and foremost they are animals, and no matter how well you think you've trained them accidents still happen!
