| How Do you Make a Baby Yorkie Eat? I have a 3 month puppy who refuses to eat her dry dog food now. I used to mix it with the wet dog food before, but I am trying not to do that. I rather just feed her dry dog food because it is cleaner for me. Now she is used to eating it mixed that she refuses to eat dry dog food when it is not mixed with wet dog food. Should I just leave the dry dog food there and will she eventually eat it? I don't want to starve my puppy, but I do want to train her to eat the dry dog food only. |

| Awww she is tiny. I would just take a tiny amount of the wet & stir it in to get the scent on all the dry-a little trickery. See if that heps to wean her. Eventually she will forget what she's missing as you do less & less wet. |

| Thanks for the advice. I am going to try the little by little trick. Is she really tiny? She was 1 lb. 4 oz at 10 1/2 weeks. Is that normal? |

| OH my she is soooo sweet. She is tiny, but I don't know if it is normal or not. My Izzy is 3.9# at 15 weeks and I thought she was little (because I am comparing her to my heavy weight at 15# ) She is very cute! I agree with the advice about mixing it just a tad to get the scent on the dry. I have to do that sometimes with Izzy. They can be so picky

| Giving dry dog food only is not a good idea. They need omega 3 & 6 fatty acids and different vitamins. Dog food only will cause all sorts of problems such as allergies, dry itchy skin and health problems. Cook up some rice and ground beef for that baby and let it eat 5 tiny meals a day. Give vitamins too. |

| i have to no matter what put boiled chicken in skoshi's food. not a lot but he will eat the tiny shredded chicken out then eat his dry food. i kind of mix it so the dry food gets the smell of the chicken. |

| You could try moistening the dry food a bit with a little chicken broth if you don't want to continue mixing it with wet, but I don't know if your puppy is too young for that or not.

| your baby is so small, I would feed her whatever it takes to get her to eat until she is a bit bigger.... I feed all of my pups mixed... as long as they get the crunchy hard I think they are fine... good luck! d

| I had the same problem. My lil guy was 1.5 pounds when I got him at 8 weeks, and at a little over 3 mos. he was only 2.0 pounds.......not gaining very much! So I decided to buy that IAMS SAVORY SAUCE. I know it's not the best stuff, but I just put 3-4 DROPS of it on 1/2 c. for him to eat and he actually ENJOYS eating now. Before I got the sauce he was eating MAYBE 1/8 -1/4 of a cup a day, and now he eats about 1/2 c. throughout the day and about another 1/8 c. at around 7/8 pm. He is 4 mos. and about 3.5 lbs, YAY!!!! |
