I had to laugh at this! Usually when I let Venus go outside, she's either in the Kitchen or the crate, and I say "back door". She usually runs to the back door. Well, her crate has been beside my bed for 2 weeks now. Seems to be the best place, cause I wake up when I hear her whine at night. She woke me at 4am, so I opened the crate and said "back door". Ok, gal runs straight to the kitchen instead. I follow her to see why the h*ll she didn't go to the back door. She was on her pee pad, going, instead of going outside! Saved me a trip outside! I was so proud she made it to the pad, I went ahead and put her food down, gave her a treat, and left her in the kitchen!! Sometimes you wonder "why they do the opposite" of what your trying to get them to do, and dang if they don't outsmart you!

Who is training who, can sometimes be a very good question for me, lol. I decided since she's been doing so good going on pee pads in the kitchen, I'd let her into the living room, and let her roam. I closed off the rest of the house. I sit down, eating on my tv tray, she walks right in front of me and pees on the carpet. Ok, is there anything I might have around this house to get the smell out so she won't keep going there? And to think, I was so proud at 4am....

Someone gave me this advice the other day. I haven't tried it, but since I'm keeping one of my new litter, I may give it a try. They said when the dog has an accident, make it sit by you while you clean it up (I assume this would require the use of a leash). After cleaning it, spray a little vinegar water on the spot and then a little of the vinegar water on the dog's nose, followed by showing the dog where it can go potty. Supposedly, they come to equate pottying in the wrong spot with getting the vinegar water on their nose. Plus, if they go back to the same spot and smell the vinegar, again, they would equate it with vinegar water on the nose. I'm sure there are several methods of training out there and I'm sure I'll be using several of them. This may be good for one that's hard to train. It's better than some of the ways I've heard of people potty training. Best of luck to you!

| I use something called Anti Icky poo and it works wonders. It got a 3 year old stain off my carpet that nothing else has gotten off of it and I tried just about everything you could imagine

50/50 is what I'd start with and then you can adjust it from there.
