Ok any adivce would be great!

My little girl is almost 8 months and she's still having accidents. I'm working really hard to keep her on a schedule and let her out every three hours, but she still has poop accidents in the house. She doesn't pee inside anymore (for the most part) but poop accidents are pretty common as she sneaks away to do it.

I praise her with treats when she goes outside, but she never tells me when she has to poop. Is this normal? What ages were your pups when they finally got it right? thank you!

Sometimes it can take a really long time for them to get fully potty trained! I know you didnt want to hear that! You are on the right track, just keep up the good work and she will have it down pat!

Well Georgie is almost 11 months and still has accidents but not as often. I think him having a big sister helped him along with the process. Don't worry your baby will get it, and before long this will be a distant memory.

If she's no longer having pee accidents, you're doing great!

A couple of ideas -

First, be very careful not to scold or punish for pooping incorrectly. What she learns in that case isn't that she shouldn't poop in the house, but that it isn't safe to poop in your presence. Not what you want to teach!

Next, if it were me, I would keep her contained in the same room with me at all times so that I could catch her pooping. If you do catch her, run her outside to finish. If she does finish outside, treat and praise!

You're on the right track!

Sounds like you are doing the right thing by crating her. I think you have to treat her like a new pup and only take her out to use the bathroom. Don't let her run around indoors at all and when you take her for a walk don't let her linger in the house for any period of time take her right outside.

Wow, I never thought of it that way. No wonder she hides when she poops. I wonder why that never happened with peeing. *sigh, she's such a good girl most of the time, this is just getting a little frustrating.

OMG...me too. Little Chance is doing great with his potty training. He rings a bell on the door to go out and his is really consistant. HOWEVER, the other day it was raining...that little bugger never rung the bell and pooped and pee pee inside right by the door

. He did not ring the bell because I was sitting very close and never heard it. I smelt the damage

Sango is a year old now and she's about 90% potty trained.

She still has some accidents every now & then. I think maybe 1 to at most 2x a month? She's has been the most difficult furkid I've had to potty train. Then again she's also my 1st Yorkie and I've been told they are harder to train. Keep your hopes up!

my Tootie has the peepee thing down, but not the poop... we leave the door open to his yard alot, and he will COME INSIDE to go poop.. LOL... gotta love the little hard head, he is so precious.

After you feed her (have you noticed how long it is before she poops?), make sure she goes out. When she poops outside, have a party and let her know what a good girl she is maybe even treat her. They get the idea fairly fast.

maybe as it gets warmer, it will get easier. muffy was 4 months and trained then when it turned cold, she started to have the poopy accidents. i make her go out now and it has stopped

If mine feel the temp is not above 50 they stop at the door.....I just walk right out the door.....anyway. As soon as the deed is done, back in the warm house.
