Destroying Pee Pad and Holder I'm getting really frustrated now that my 3 month old Yorkiepoo has figured out how to open the pee pad holder. He always used to rip up the pee pads so I bought a holder. In a day or two, my little boy has figured out how to drag the pad out from the sides and also open the holder and get to ripping everything up again. I have to replace the pad 6+ times a day because of this. It's not only annoying and gross but it's also a health concern. I've found bits of cotton from the pee pad in his poop once. How can I get him to just leave it alone? He loves ripping up, chewing and destroying everything! I have a nylabone for him, a kong, 2 stuffed toys and a ball for him to play with but nothing appeals to him more than chewing and destroying the things he isn't supposed to touch.

Do you have a handy significant other? Go to Home Depot and make a square box that he can easily jump onto and get grass (real or fake). This will also help if you are out and about with him and you don't have a pee pad. He will get use to the grass and go in any grass area.

Try the reusable ones. He may try to destroy it but once he isn't successful he may stop. I got mine on Amazon and my puppy used them with no problem or training. I wish I didn't buy so many though because now he only goes outside.

Pee pad Hello. I don't know if you have seen The Piddle Place pee pad system? The owner of the pad is a member here.....the Piddle Place I believe. It is a very sturdy system that looks hard to destroy. They have a web site that explains. May be good for a cold climate when the dog cannot go outside? I do not use this as my adopted dog is accustomed only to going outside. Good luck, it is a real problem I am sure.

Sounds like a puppy to me! I broke the habit by using washable pads for a short while. Even though I use disposables now, the washable ones are still good to put in Gracie's stroller and carrier, so they are by no means a waste. Aren't puppies a mess?

| I had the same problem but it got solved by completely not using a pee pad holder at all. I think the pee pad holder just made my pup want to challenge herself lol.. by trying to rip it up. Your pup is still a baby but he will outgrow this. Just make sure he has toys and other things to bite and play with.

We don't use pee pads much anymore, but when we do we actually tape it to the ground. I'm sure that Bentley scratches and digs at it a bit, but he can't get at it with his teeth.
