| Taking toys Whats some tips for taking toys. Joel takes everything from Rosco and puts them under the couch or a room and leaves them there. When im trying to correct him he runs so fast. The only way Rosco can play by himself is if I gate Joel out of the room. |

| It's what dogs do - especially terriers. You can try to redirect him and give him other toys but usually only separating them for toy play can stop this. A highly trained dog will drop the toy and back off when you say "Leave It", but unless you want to train to that level, there isn't much to do besides crating the other dog, letting him outside or putting him in another room. That is part of owning more than one dog - finding ways for them to eat, play with toys and chew in peace - and it can be hard work when at least one of them is feisty! To a dog, a toy or chewie is viewed as a resource and like food, they are never going to willingly share.

| It's one of the Doggie 100 Commandments and it's probably #1 or #2: You WILL take all of the food, toys, sticks and chewbones for yourself any chance you get!

YT 2000 Club Member | Boy that is the truth. My two yorkies have a basket full of toys, but if one of them is enjoying a toy then the other one will sit and sit and sit, eyes fixed on that one toy as if her very existence relied upon retrieving it until she finds the right opportunity then she will quickly snatch it away. Then it becomes the other ones turn to begin "the sit and wait for the right opportunity" game. This game can go on for hours and it is a game played daily. My poodle will sit on the couch and just stare at them like they are nuts.
