YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Sit Stay Down Stay Again an Again and Again Back from training on a beautiful sunny warm toronto day! Yeah. But oh my do Razz and I ever have a huge way to go in obedience! He had like zero focus on me, constantly broke sit then sit stay, then down and down stay. I think my eyes are still crossed from all that repetition. Only training him in the house for the past three months or so, sure did set us back. My mantra is patience, patience, patience. So got my homework from Ilona, and we meet up again on thurs. She was not pleased with my training at all I also asked her when can I let him run and retreive his toys? She said not here, not now, you got to get serious with him, just like Magic. She said forget this he is a wee boy, this is a Working dog, treat him just like Magic. Discipline him for lack of obedience. She said Magic (who was in a leash free down stay, the whole time I worked with Razz), said Magic has rarely taken his eyes off you...that is what you want from Razz!. On the plus note, Magic did great. We quickly worked him up through his CD level, and started working on Recall Down. which he did very well at the beginning stages (which is where we left off, when he/then I were injured). Ilona finally started to smile after 40 minutes of Razz and I. Our challenge will be to work him at CDX without reinjuring his back. We will do it too. She said, she thinks we will get this quickly, once we trial. I said yes I think so just like CD, one/two three competitions then we are done. It's funny, I don't remember Magic being so hard to work with as a youngster. But he was my hubby reminded me, of how many hours I put into his obedience. Anyhow thanks for listening. Oh the joys of obedience work

| Sounds like a long session and Razzle had Springtime on his mind! Maybe he will buckle down hard for you next session. Sounds like fun day with your dogs.

| After reading your post Gail, I feel much better after working with Max on our evening walk. He was good about sitting each time I stopped, but he wouldn't look at me without a lot of coaxing. Too many things to look at outside! Grrr.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | You go girl! They do try our patience My trainer said do not say anything, don't move until he looks at you, then reward, oh and by the way he was in a sit stay. That time I could have been in china. He was looking at all the other dogs running by, Magic, or Dave. or Sergey. Tap tap tap, more time, more time, more corrections for breaking sit/stay. Tap tap tap, I tell ya girlfriend it must have been 5 minutes at least before he looked at me. That treat went in his month at the speed of a light train

| I will try your trainer's advice and not move until he looks at me. Max said that he will remind me to bring the treats/rewards. We are doing separate walks again this morning because the boys were awful together yesterday, pulling, not walking upright, trying to lie down in the wet grass.

| I love hearing and reading about your devotion to your pups. It makes my heart smile. It has made me more eager and determined about training in the future. I have learned so much from you, Gail. Your wisdom and your heart have deeply affected me, and your friendship has been most precious to me. I will strive to be an even better mom in the future because of you.
